What year did Lifetime start airing Unsolved Mysteries?

I believe it was in 1992.

I've been watching UM as long as anyone on "Lifetime" and concur it was around 1992 when the show started airing on the cable channel. The thing is besides airing them in order (and obviously the selection of episodes they had to choose from back then was much narrower then the selection they have now - and that was for the better in a lot of people's opinions) barring the overnight block - they really didn't air anything back then that they don't air today unless my memory is tricking me.

I remember seeing all the popular cases - SOS, Nixon, Maples, Kay Marshall(I remember this one used to air a lot compared to now) , Leppert, Kimmell, Delano, Area 51, Edward Bell etc. airing quite regularly back in the early 90s.

I also remember some of the rarer cases like Tara Calico, Guardian and later "The Hum" airing late at night in their overnight slot - thats when you'd get the rare segments.
