Guys,
I don't have Season 2 yet. I customarily will wait about a month before I get a new released disk because sometimes (altthough rarely) early fresh out of the assembly line DVD's may have bugs in them. (Which happened with my Season 1. Looks like I got a fine copy now.)
So what do you think of Season 2? Post any restorations in the "Scenes No Longer Aired Thread." I should have the disk by the end of August and am looking forward to it!!!

I got my "Brady Bunch" Season 2 DVD set in the mail yesterday. I've already finished watching the first disc (there are four in total). I believe all the eps are fully restored to their original state. I just watched the episode with Jan making up the pretend boyfriend, George Glass. Remember when Jan has the operator call the Brady home because Jan said they were having trouble with their phone? She gives the operator the Bradys' phone number. TV Land edits out the phone number--but now, we get the full phone number on the DVD. But there is one thing missing in the set: Extras! No extras are included in the Season 2 set whatsoever! That's a bummer. It would have been nice to at least had some commentary on a few eps. I've been such a HUGE "Brady" fan since I was a youngster, and now I'm close to 40.
By the way, Jack, I tried e-mailing you to join my Yesteryearland group on Yahoo! It is a fun and friendly group in which we talk about classic entertainment, including "The Brady Bunch." Would love to have you in the group!:

Make sure you try calling that number and asking for Jan. They love it when you do that.

The big dissappointment for me was that there are no extras on the second season DVD and the overall video quality seems not quite as good as the first DVD set :(

I agree,
The video quality I think is about equal on Season 1 and Season 2. However, I did notice some poor transfers on the end credits on a few episodes. (Still going through them.)
The sound is excellent however, with three very small glitches. (noticed so far)
In "The Dropout",when Greg is lifting weights in the family room, there is a point when you here about a 1-2 second whoosh sound on the dialogue.
In "The Tattle-Tale", listen closely when Alice talkes to Cindy in the kitchen while she is mixing cake batter and talkes to her about going outside to play with the others. Cindy says she doesn't wanna play those dumb kid games. Alice says, she didn't think they were dumb kid games a week ago. Cindy says that she has grown up and Alice says, "Yea I guess you have aged in a whole week."
At some point when Alice is saying one of those phrases, you can hear a very faint but distinct moaning or humming sound for about 3 seconds.
One More sound glitch:
Listen carefully in "What Goes Up?" when all of the Brady's are trying to get Tiger to stop chasing Bobby's parakeet. When the bird is up on the curtain rod, or just about at that point, you can hear the low sound of something being dropped, as if a tech guy had dropped something in the control room and the mics picked it up.
Obviously, these were either on the original tapes or may not have been mixed properly. Due to the limitations of the technology at the time, the studio could not pick up those little glitches. However, the audio is MUCH CLEANER than TV Land or synidicated prints for both Seasons 1 and 2.

One downfall i noticed about the Second Season is some of the episodes have minor color problems, An episode will be bright and stunning then will change and be dark and murky looking for a minute or so but will swift back to normal. I love these DVD Sets though, The only thing i can hope for is that Paramount adds extras to the remaining seasons as they did for Season One.

Yea,
I am just enjoying seeing the episodes in their original uncut glory! Someone said on the board that Barry Williams mentioned that Paramount did bonus stuff for all the DVD's, but than why are the extras only included on Season 1?
I also have a 6 year old TV, so my picture quality may not be as good as some of you guys with newer sets. But I do have to say that my first two seasons of Gilligans Island are much cleaner than my first two Brady Bunch DVD's. (and GI is an older show!!!)
Guys, the disk quality isn't bad on The Brady Bunch DVD's OK? It's still better than the TV Land or syndicate prints and it should NOT destract you from buying the disks at all. You are still getting on average 2-3 minutes of footage per episode that you can't see anywhere else. So these versions are probably the best we are ever going to have. But just expect it to look like what it is. A 35-year old show that has gone through many distributions over a period of time. If you take that into account, you'll be pleased with the quality.
I have to agree with Trance. We need extras on the remaining seasons!!!
