What are some of the most used citys and states used to base sitcoms in?
Illinois (Roseanne, MWC, TBNS, and more)
New York City (Tuns of them from All In The Family to Everybody Loves Raymond)

Is it me or does it seem as if every other sitcom always takes place in New York City?

Seems like most of them are on one coast or the other. Seems weird to have one in the middle of the country unless it's in Chicago.
Shows like The Mary Tyler Moore Show in Minneapolis seem like rarities.

Both Happy Days and Laverne & Shirley were in Milwaukee. And Mork & Mindy was somewhere in Colorado, I believe.
