Yeah, I liked that one too because Florida got down during that song!
Ireneparalegal 07-30-2005, 08:49 PM I liked the MISSISSIPPI song better because it helped me to remember how to spell that state!!!!! LOL but I also liked the way Florida got down to the other song. Notice the audience laughing. It seems they were laughing at her instead of just laughing. My opinion. Nothing racist behind it. If Zion only knew the truth. LOL
Brian is my man. I get him. He gets me. That's all that matters.

Zion's Mother knows the truth. I'm not blinded to "reality" Racism is not always the subliminal message. Sometimes it's just ignorance. Ignorance is not always a bad thing, it's simply not knowing in some cases. I would love to take you some places to not just visit but dwell for a few days, that's all it would take. I'm curious as to how you would cope. It's very different from just being friends with certain classes/nationalities. I can tell by your responses that you would not be able to handle it.

Ireneparalegal 07-31-2005, 07:01 PM I could have sworn I heard that MISSISSIPPI song on some other television show but for the life of me I can't remember where. Can anyone else remember seeing it sung elsewhere?????
Brian Damage 07-31-2005, 09:10 PM Nowhere that I know of.
Sammy Reed 07-31-2005, 09:41 PM I could have sworn I heard that MISSISSIPPI song on some other television show but for the life of me I can't remember where. Can anyone else remember seeing it sung elsewhere?????
"What's Happening" and "Alice" are 2 that come to my mind.
Brian Damage 07-31-2005, 09:49 PM Really? What episode of What's Happening?
Ireneparalegal 07-31-2005, 10:14 PM Oh yeah, it was Alice. Thanx for that. I thought I was going to have a sleepless night tonight.
Sammy Reed 08-01-2005, 01:11 AM Really? What episode of What's Happening?
Tell you the truth, I can't give you the exact episode of which season set to look for it in, :joke:
But in the early 80's (WTBS reran it, and our house didn't have cable at that time) when I first heard neighborhood kids saying "M-I-crookedletter...", etc., and I asked one of them where they got that from, he said that's what they said on "What's Happening". (He said that was supposed to help you spell it faster! ( ) And as dumb as I was then, it was faster than I could spell it! (Again, ))
Now in 1986, when one of our broadcast stations reran the show for a while, I think I remember them saying that once.
catlover79 07-05-2007, 02:46 AM For He's A Groovy Dude, hands down. I've found myself actually singing it at odd times. It sure is catchy!! :D
