Jeez, Kathryn Leigh Scott didn't look anything at all like the portrait of Josette. I'm surprised they didn't do a portrait in her likeness for a better effect. After all, Jonathan Frid had one!!

I thought the very same thing before when watching some episodes of D.S. that the portrait didn't look anything like "Maggie." That got me to thinking, though, perhaps it was one of two different reasons: either 1) When that particular painting was done, they had to make it kind of "generic" because they didn't have in mind (at that particular time) that "Maggie" would also be portraying "Josette." (or) 2) perhaps they did have in mind that "Maggie" would also portray "Josette" but if they made the portrait to look like her, that would give away future story lines????? i.e., that "Maggie" was going to portray "Josette" when Vicki went back in time.

I think it was just a portrait of someone else and as the soap opera continued they decided to make Maggie into Josette.

They never did comission a portrait of Maggie as Josette but that's the beauty of Dark Shadows. It's another Blooper to me.

My guess is that, with their shoe-string budget on the show, they couldn't afford to have another portrait done!!!

Speaking of Kathryn Leigh Scott her books on DS were loaded with errors. Bad editor and writer she is.Look DS is just a long dead fictional soap opera. No sense worrying about deatils like this. But hell yeah the painting didn't look much like her. Looked more like Mrs. Johnson with an abcess tooth.
