When Keith is first mentioned, Willona describes Thelma making out with a dude in a big red cadillac.

He probably sold it to make some extra cash considering he wasn't going to play football.

Maybe it was repossessed, or maybe it was a rental car.

It could have been stolen.

I am thinking it was "loaned" to him by the football league somehow, could that be possible? Maybe his manager got it for him as part of the contract he signed and with the contract now null and void, it had to be taken back.

Wasn't there a time when sports figures received gifts right out of college? Is that still going on now?

Oh yeah. I don't think it's legal, but you can bet it still goes on under the table. LeBron James was drafted out of high school, but while he was in high school in Akron he got TONS of gifts from recruiters, etc.

Well, it was 1978 when the Cadillac was mentioned and gone. Carl went to Little House that same season.
