I recieved a kitten for graduation about a week before school ended. I had some ideas for names, but my family refused to comply with any of my recommendations. Therefore, my cat remains nameless. I usually just call him cat or cracker, but it's only right that he has a permanent name.

Poor cracker. Any ideas?

Just make it's name Cracker

That was my original plan but my parents are being weird about it. Apparently the term "cracker" is offensive to some people. Which is ridiculous.

Haha, well, I guess if you put it in certain contexts it could be but just tell people your cat's name is something like Ritz Cracker, Cracker for short, not offensive, the cat already has heard it, and it's so cute. It doesn't have to be Ritz Cracker, but it'll get people of your back.

It's your cat. You give him the name you feel is right for him! Don't let other's opinions stop you from enjoying your pet!

I don't see why anyone would find it offensive. It's not like the cat is pure white and you're calling it Cracker in context to the coloring of it... Cracker is a cute name I think- not offensive at all.

Doesn't crackers also mean crazy?

How about the alternative band Cracker who does the song "Low"?

Or how 'bout Cracker Jack? I LIKE Cracker myself, but with Cracker Jack - how can that be offensive (unless you're a dentist and are against candied-corn and peanuts)!! That way you can still call him Cracker and if they want, can call him Jack.

My brother did that with a cat I had. For 13 years we called her Peanuts and he called her Sputniks. I could have killed him (but at least the cat never came to him since it didn't recognize Sputniks)!

It was probably spelled "Sambuca" after the licorce liquer. Cute!!

Poor Bozo - going through life with a name like that!!

I still wish we had named Finnegan "Stormin' Normin'" like I had wanted to. Obviously got him around the time of the Gulf War - he was the craziness cat I've ever owned - acted more like a dog!

How about "Rowdy"? He's one tough-looking cat. Besides, he's the same color of a friend's cat, whose name is also "Rowdy".
