 i never thought of that.
Fleet 07-29-2005, 03:00 AM Hell, once you reach 80, I think you want to be as old as possible, the higher the number the more impressed people will be.
That's true. George Burns (1896-1996) would frequently mention his age when he was in his 80s and 90s.
I think it would be kind of fun being older than most people. If I make it to 80, I can tell the 20-year-olds about black-and-white TVs, 33 and 45 rpm records, pinball machines, stingray bicycles with the "banana" seat, Jiffy-Pop (unless it's still around), The Gong Show (well, maybe not that one), VCRs, '60s cars like the Mustang, Camaro and Road Runner, ice cream trucks, Star Trek, Star Wars, The Fonz, cameras with 126-type film & disc cameras, etc.

As teenagers, my friends and I would talk and laugh about what we would be like when we were old. We envisioned sitting in "suped-up" wheelchairs that had "headers", jacked up at the back, mag wheels and some sort of "metalflake" metallic paintjob on them. We'd race them down the hallways of the old folks' home like the muscle cars of the 70s (our heydays). We'd still be listening to Led Zeppelin blasting away and driving people nuts.
It might just happen too! And it won't surprise me that we'll still be going to see The Rolling Stones, live - in concert!!
Hey - even now, I figure anyday ABOVE ground is a good one! ;)
