View Full Version : May I make a suggestion
lgriffie 07-28-2005, 04:25 PM I am still new to this site and new to trading in general so if my idea sucks, feel free to shoot it down.
I have noticed lately that there are mutiple treads posted each day for the same person saying that they are a good trader. I think for new people like me and others in general, wouldn't it just be easier to find out who is a good trader before making a trade by just being able to search for 1 thread and find out all the good comments about them instead of searching for their user name and finding multiple threads that say they are a good trader. Basically what I am saying is I think it would be better to have a thread for each trader that says "Feedback for (insert username)" and then under this thread, people can reply when they have a good/bad trade. That way, when I want to start a trade with someone I don't know, I can just search for the thead entitled "feedback for (insert username of trader I am interested in trading with)" and I can find that one thread and look at the mutiple replies that come up instead of just searching for the traders user name and finding mutiple threads that I now have to wade through. Just a suggestion to all. Feel free to shoot it down if you don't feel like that is how this board is.

T-Greg 07-28-2005, 04:32 PM Your point is well-taken. I think it's unneccesary to post every time you have a good trade with someone. If for no other reason, there is a recommended traders list at the top that serves that purpose, which is to let everyone know they can be trusted. Posting everytime you complete a good trade with someone bumps the messages we're all here for (want and trade lists) off the first page, where everyone would like it to be, so it's seen easier. Just my two cents.
mele503 07-28-2005, 05:33 PM I also have to agree that we do not need to post everytime a trade goes good with someone. I do think that if one does it should be in the old good trader thread:
www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/showthread.php?p=2618748#post2618748
This would save all the posts about having a good trade with someone and be all in one spot. I understand newbies wanting their name out that they are trustable, honest and a good trader because I have only been a member to this forum for about 3 months but some people can go overboard with these types of threads.
If you are a good trader people will know it by seeing your trade list growing and have not seen any posts about you being a bad trader. I like giving good feedback just as much as the next trader but why not list several at a time instead of each individual one at a time in a thread? If you are fairly new you can also give references that you have traded with so that can help as much as these postings.
We all want to be well informed of who is good and who is a scammer. I think putting this thread above back in use is a very good idea.
Happy trading!!

loren 07-28-2005, 06:24 PM the good--bad trader board was set up to handle trader rateings
i , would like to see all that i made a trade with jimmy and it was so great stuff, just plain end
i see the same stuff on other boards and many times its the same person with several names telling everyone how wonderful they are.
its not a miracle to make a good trade, a persons good reputation is earned over many trades and over a period of time
one trade doesnt make a person a great trader and deserve posts
we went through all sorts of debate and systems until the board thing is the rule of the land--ok fine--if you like it or not--its the rule
so lets abide by the rule
if you are a memebr in good trader status and would like to nominate a person for the good trader status-- then email the folks in charge of the board, and make your case for whom ever
two unkown and relative newbies telling how the other is great, doesnt instill much confidence to the proven traders anyway, so i think its a huge waste and surely needs to be handled in the proper system thats in place
on the same note, posts sometimes several times a day looking for this and that, and offering the same items for trade , are a little useless as well.
wouldnt a freewebs--totaly free--web site with have and want lists on it make much better use of your efforts ???
then potential traders could refer to it in the leisure, and select items they are interested in
and when you get a special item, you could post about that and refer folks to you nice--easy to read--web site ?
Agent 13 07-28-2005, 08:06 PM I also have to agree that we do not need to post everytime a trade goes good with someone.
To make things more user friendly, I put back on the top a sticky post for actual posts for good trader comments. As comments are added, the names eventually will be added to the main organized "Recommended Traders List".
The problem is that oftentimes people just start brand new good trader posts, rather than adding to the designated link. If you don't put the names in the proper place, your comment could very well get lost in the stream of posts. If, however, you put them in the appropriate place, the names will become included in the main list.

Thanks Jen. That should help out a lot. That way if people want to post a new post every time on a good trade it will not clutter up the board and we can look to read them all in one thread.
