Who's up for some HD Trivia?
LONG LIVE HAPPY DAYS!!!!!

:seeya:

It's a full blown out trivia race from Los Angeles, California to our favorite Milwaulkee hangout: Arnold's!!!!!!

 WE'RE BACK!!!!!

((( :eek2: ))) ((( :eek2: ))) ((( :eek2: )))

(((((( CONTEST STARTS AUGUST EIGHTH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ))))))
:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

To enter the contest >>>
simply e-mail me (Pat) at GotchaPhoto@hotmail.com
Type "2Trivia4Me" in the subject line (so I don't overlook it)
and include these three things:
1) The name you post to this board as. (i.e. FonzFan)
2) A 2 digit number for your car.
3) A passenger from the cast that has not already been chosen.

Why do you have to e-mail to register?
Good question. Those who register will be e-mailed generally when the postings will be for the trivia. That way the people registered aren't expected to sit in front of their computer all day waiting for the trivia to be posted. E-mail addresses will not be given out or used for anything other than 2Trivia4Me Happy Days Trivia.

How long will this trivia contest go on for? :talk:
For the rest of August. Trivia will not be posted as often as every day, but as mentioned, people who register will have an insight when trivia will post.

The contest takes place right here on this message board!!!!!

I'm in Japan for the next several months, so prizes are a little trickier.
I'm planning that if we get...
5 contestants, I hope to have a prize for 1st place.
8 contestants, I hope to have a prize for 1st and 2nd place.
10 contestants, I hope to have prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.

I have been considering what type of prizes I could get for this trivia contest.

First of all, there are only 1st and 2nd place prizes.
The following replies I post are options for these prizes.
If 1st and 2nd place winners want to trade certain prizes before I mail them out, please contact each other and let me know before I mail them out.

All three of these Happy Days Collectable dolls that were once sold by Target are in route (mailed to me). These will be given to the first place winner.

I am also offering you 1,000 yen in prizes. (about $10 US) Yes, you can shop Japan and have items mailed to you. If you think of something that is not listed as a suggestion in a reply below, just ask and I'll see if it can be purched in my area.

I am offering you a copy of my Fan Fiction of Happy Days, Legends Live On.
It is 106 pages typed. Here are some of the comments I received from readers:

Hi Pat,
Although I hate to admit it, I just read your story last night (in its entirety). I just started a demanding full time job, etc. Anyway, I was up until 2 this morning because I just couldn't put it down. I sobbed throughout the entire "lost in the woods" part...I LOVE stories that make me cry. You did an excellent job. I could totally see your story as an actual HD script.
VERY well done. :)
Michelle

I just wanted to let you know that I started reading the book last night and I could hardly put it down to go to bed. I finished it this afternoon and it is great. I loved it.
Melissa

There are few authors with the ability to express their thoughts with such great detail as to draw you into the story. These are the books that are read in 1 or 2 days, because you just can't put it down. This is one of them! Congratulations!
Mike

If you would rather take additional yen than this Fan Fiction story, add another 1000 yen to your prize money.

Of course, the requests in spending the yen must be within reason. (i.e. don't request something that can only be found in certain locations like Tokyo to pick something up)

If you don't spend all of your yen, I will not send you the change in yen or US dollars.

Pat

Pocky is a very popular snack here in Japan.
It is like a light weight, unsalted prezel stick.
Some are dipped in chocolates like the pictures shown.

They have Chocolate and Strawberry.
They also have other flavors that are not dipped but are really good such as Bread and Salad (Your cost would be 200 yen per box)

They also have Pocky that is higher value such as the dipped and then swirled with other flavors. Banana, specialty Strawberry and Chocolate.
(Your cost would be 250 yen per box)

Fran" Chocolates by Meiji
Glico's Pocky biscuit and chocolate sticks have long been a snack staple in not just Japan, but all of Asia. Here Meiji takes the competition to a higher level offering the biscuits as gourmet like snacks. The picture are of the boxes for White and Dark Chocolates attractively packaged in foil boxes.

Fran is much like Pocky but at an even higher quality. My very favorite are the blueberry swirls. (your cost per box would be 300 yen)

I know of a collectable store several blocks from here. One thing they sell are bottle cap covers. These are caps that fit snug on your water bottle caps or soda bottle caps. They have different themes like the Universal Monsters vs. Pepsiman or in the picture below, Star Wars.

These are free with purchases of Pepsi here in Japan. The only problem is that it is a VERY limited time. That is why I mentioned this collectable store.

The things I like about them are that these bottle cap covers (I believe) are only available in Japan and China. They also have great detail.

(Your cost would be 100 to 200 yen per cap depending on what I can get them for at the collectables store)

Nothing like that. It's just harder to come up with HD prizes out here. Let me know if you think this is a bad idea, and I can easily change it.

Thnaks,
Patits not a bad idea - im not really playing for the prizes, just for fun... the prizes seem great, i just thought it was funny about the shopping stuff - dont panic

didn't you give away copies of the full series on VHS or DVD one year?

A few years I was giving HD ep on VHS. The winners chose which ones to be dubbed.

I was thinking about DVD box set last year, but not that many people seemed interested at the time.

I know that most people are playing the trivia contest for fun. It just seems like the prizes add a little to it. :D

you need to get yours transferred to dvd Pat - when I moved back to the states I had to LEAVE my HD tapes - i gave away 18 VHS tapes with about 240 episodes :(

of course at the time I thought we'd be seeing regular HD season sets on DVD
