View Full Version : I just LOVE Maude
trm37 02-10-2001, 10:17 AM I just love the show. I remember when I was a kid I was obsessed with it. I guess that makes me sort of a strange kid but oh well. I watch the show every morning on tv land:Maude, Bob Newhart, and Chico and the man. That's how I st art each day. I was glad when Rue and Bea appeared together again in the Golden Girls. They are so good together.
I also think the theme song is great.Bea Arthur is just a scream and I love her.
Purple Velvet Bohemian 02-16-2001, 08:41 PM Hey ! I totally LOVED Maude when I was a kid! It was one of my favorite shows in the 70's, I also loved All In The Family, Good Times, Sanford and Son, Mary Tyler Moore, and The Bob Newhart Show. I guess I was a strange kid too, huh?
trm37 02-16-2001, 09:04 PM Hey Purple, I too love MTM In college my roommate and I used to get up at 3:00 am because MTM came on, just to hear the theme song "you're gonna make it after all"because we would be depressed and that would give us the strength to carry on.I love thoese old shows to this day they inspire me to keep on going no matter how hard it seems. If a little fantasy helps then more power to it!Thanks for you're message it made my day!
Pitooey 02-17-2001, 12:07 AM I'm a Maude fan too! I just loved to see her and her hubby fight...... Also she was so feisty. She's alot like me!
ThomasE 02-22-2001, 07:55 PM I like the show. I wish the Bunkers would have made guest appearacnes on the show. It would have been cool. Edith and Maude are cousins. Edith knew the Jeffersons and Maude knew the Evanses. It would have been great if they could all get together for a gathering. LOL.

Maude: Walter. This is your home. If you don't want my daughter and my only grandson living her here, just say so.
Walter: And?
Maude: And I'll rip your heart out.
Mary Covey 02-23-2001, 12:39 PM I'm almost 12 and I love Maude! It's a great show!

Peter UK 33 02-25-2001, 04:36 PM I am a huge fan of Maude, I love Bea arthur in what ever she had appeared in,
I live in the UK and had began watching Maude when there were only 5 episodes left to air, this was back in 1992, Maude has not aired since, and there are no plans to air it in the future....the UK sucks. I was devistated, I would do anything to get hold of more episodes, I will pay anyone willing to copy episodes for me, doesnt matter if they are recorded in NTSC as i am able to view US tapes.....please help me out,...i will make it worth your while.
Michele35 02-25-2001, 08:10 PM Hey, I can never get enough of Bea Arthur! Maude rocks!
I guess I was a strange kid, too. I loved the Maude theme song! Maude always reminded me of a liberal female Archie Bunker, lol.
trm37 02-26-2001, 09:25 PM Hi everyone!! I never thought that there were so many Maude fans out there. Peter I am sorry but I do not have a vcr and so I can't tape the episodes for you although I wish I could.Perhaps the UK will run them again if you view your opinion loud enough.Remember I am a YANK and we are used to doing such things.Good luck!

Josh9125 03-19-2001, 09:09 PM Ohhh, I LOVE the show too. Maude is hilarious!
callmetootie 04-22-2001, 07:34 PM I think that Maude is a pretty good show. It kind of falls short of some of the other spin-offs of All In The Family. I liked the characters Maude, Arthur, Florida, and Carol. I think that the show could have lived without Walter, he was really annoying I thought. Conrad Bain was better on this then Diff'rent Strokes I think, mainly because he played a more serious character. I too wished that Jean Stapleton's character Edith would guest star.

Sean Snow 06-23-2001, 07:56 PM I love this show and it's theme song too! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
It would have been great if Edith and Archie came. It would have been funny if Archie and Maude got in a fight.

Jack: You know what your trouble is, Chrissy? You're a compulsive eater!
Chrissy: I am not! I'm just always hungry.

Agent #99: Max, do you think it's a KAOS agent?
Max: Either that or your mother!

Hey trm37,I don't think you were a strange kid.
I remember being obsessed with this show too, when I was 11 years old, during the summer of 1981.Even though it was three years after Maude had gone of the air.I watched the reruns like crazy.During that period Maude reruns were shown on City TV at 7:00 on weeknights.Followed by reruns of MASH at 7:30.(Except unlike Maude,MASH was still in production at the time.)
I loved the characters and the house. You have to agree Maude had a beautiful home. That set really fascinated me.The master bedroom with a personal suite that consisted of a dressing room and a bathroom.Plus I was always curious about what the den looked like inside.Or what was down that hallway just outside the den.
