Today, I bought a copy of the August 1 issue of People magazine, and, on pages 99-100, there is an article about a woman named Monica Caison. A specialist in cold cases, she launched the Community United Effort for Missing Persons (CUE, for short) in 1994. The article briefly mentions that UM was among the national TV shows she has appeared in. The article also discusses the disappearance of Leah Roberts.

For those of you who are not familiar with that case (which UM profiled in 2001), Leah Roberts was a 23-year-old North Carolina State student who was influenced by the work of author Jack Kerouac. In March of 2000, she took a cross-country trip to Bellingham, Washington. A few days after arriving there, she vanished, and her Jeep Cherokee was found abandoned in a park. Nothing was found to indicate what might have happened to her.

The article is worth reading. And if you don't already have a copy of the August 1, 2005 issue of People, I urge you to do so. The next issue of People will arrive in a fews days, so don't delay!
