Anybody heard anymore info on this story. They were vacationing in California in 1983(might be a year off). There bodies were discovered on the side of the road. They were hitchhiking across the state.

He said that somebody maybe even a family member identified the guy who murdered the two women and the police checked the man's house and found evidence that implicates him in the crime. Now, RS didn't exactly say they charged this individual with the crime, but it seemed pretty much a lock that this fellow did murder those two girls. Also it was mentioned that the guy "hated women in general" and that might have been the motive for the murders.

Later.

The names of the murdered women were Marie Lilienberg and Maria Wahlen. And yes, Robert Stack did an update on the case.

However, the following link suggests that the murders are officially unsolved. Apparently, the authorities don't have enough evidence to bring the "Loren" (the potential suspect) to trial. :(

I remember their dad came to America to look for them so it's horrible he hasn't gotten justice yet!

Were the girls raped?

They were both sexually assaulted, which is the same MO Loren and Shermantine used on their other victims.
