I thought this might be a neat thread. Think of your favorite sitcoms and see if there is any information on the net about where the actual house (used in the exterior shots on the show) is actually located. I know of a few.

1. The Brady Bunch house is located at 11222 Dilling Street · North Hollywood, CA

2. Happy Days - Although the storyline took place in Mil, Wisconsin, the house is located in Los Angeles, California.

3. ROSEANNE - Although the Conner's lived in Lanford, Illinois, the actual house is located at 619 S Runnymeade, Evansville, Indiana. (Other areas from the sitcom including the Lobo, Welman Plastics and Rodbells are also in Evansville.)

4. DESIGNING WOMEN - This big beautiful house which was owned by Julia Sugarbaker and where the women worked is not actually located in Atlanta like on the show. It is actually located in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Anyone know of any others? The house used on Full House is obviously in San Fransico and the Family Matters House is clearly in Chicago but I can't find much info about them. I believe the Golden Girls house is located somewhere in California - a lookalike was built in MGM studios in Florida but it's not the actual house.

the "I Dream Of Jeannie" house, the "Bewitched" house and the houses from "Hazel" & "Gidget" (at leat the exteriors-the interiors were shot in the studio) are all located near each other on the Columbia back lot (now part of the Warner Bros. back lot) in Hollywood*. In fact, in a few Jeanie episodes (mostly black-and-white ones) you can see the Bewiched house in the background in some scenes. And, I've heard that in the opening of Hazel you can see shots of some of these houses. (I don't know for sure, as I haven't seen the show in YEARS.

*Warner Brothers is where "Friends" was filmed, and the fountain in the opening is located accross from the "IDOJ" house, and near the "Bewitched" house.

A poster that lives in San Francisco found the "Full House" House last year. The address wasn't posted but the house is definately in San Francisco.

The house got new siding and the door has been painted a new color.

the mansion from "The Beverlly Hillbillies" was really in Bel Air, CA. Don't bother looking for it, if you ever go out there. Sadly, it was torn down YEARS ago.

Yah - CravinForCarrie has personal photos they took of the actual house when they were there. There's also the tree out front which has grown a LOT since they aired.

They claim on the tour at Disney that it IS indeed the house filmed for the show (the outside only - its two dimensional). Maybe the interior of the house is in California where it was filmed (for obvious reasons - they needed a set)!

I don't think Disney would be allowed to mislead people if it weren't the case.

I had read in TV Guide a few years back that a replica of The Simpsons' house was built in or near Las Vegas, I think it was, and was a sweepstakes prize. I cringed when I read that the winner actually wanted to repaint and remodel the house!

"Seaview Circle" from "Knots Landing" is actually Crystallaire Place in Granada Hills, California. All of the cul-de-sac houses from the show are still in tact and still pretty much look the same...

The exteriors of Drew Carey's house in his show were actually of a house in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, which is one of cleveland's east side suburbs. The show's setting was in the west side neighborhood known as Old Brooklyn.

I read the same thing. I think they held that contest in 1997 or 1998. I thought it was a pretty cool contest. Like you, I was pretty miffed to hear the owners wanted to redo the house after winning.

The exterior of the house used for the opening of Mama's Family is located in Palo Altos, California. I'm not sure of the exact address though.

Wow, that is so stupid. If he didn't like the house then he should not have entered the contest and let a die-hard Simpsons fan, who would kill to live in a house like that, win it.
