I caught Gary Coleman's two Good Times appearences on TV Land a little while ago and it was kinda funny just how much time changed even over the point of about 4 years. In 1978, he was chasing young Janet Jackson around, yet by 1982, his older brother was the one dating Janet and Arnold was "the kid".

yep, it was kinda cool to see him and Kim Fields both appearing on GT before either of them had their own shows. All three series (FOL, DS and GT) were Tandem shows though.

Yeah their Apperances on GT is probably why they were chosen for DS and FOL. Oh I almost forgot Gary also appeared on the Jeffersons the same year he appeared on Good times. So I guess they knew he was ready for his own show

was Gary Coleman already famous before DS premiered? I notice the applause he got in his second apperence in the last season, however the said episode aired almost a month before Strokes premiered, so it wasn't like he was a "special guest star" crossing from another show.

He had appeared on the Jeffersons, and Good Times twice before the premeire of Diffrent Strokes
