The Archie Bunker character put his name and career on the map. It changed TV, but I'm going to take him as the William Gillespie character. I just liked him in that role because it showed the versatility on his part as an actor. The show was great. He went from playing a bigot, to someone who was color blind.

I like him as Archie Bunker better. I've watched "In The Heat of the Night" a few times and he was good in that too, but I still think he Archie was the better character.

I'm going to go with Archie but I love both shows and both characters- it's a tough choice- he did both so well. Carroll is truly one of television's greatest.

All in the Family is my all-time favourite sitcom and so I'll have to go with Archie.
