....you to see who's buddy list you're on? I really want that! I just think that'd be neat...

Not sure. I don't use AOL IM or anything that's AOL-related for that matter. In all seriousness, I highly doubt this feature would happen only because of privacy issues. Some people just do not want others to see who has who on their buddy list. I also used to think that would be nice, but then again, I wouldn't want others to see who's on my list either. That can be quite private, in a way. I dunno...

I use MSN IM, but if I understand Niki's question, isn't she asking if someone else can see who has you on their list? Like other than deleting or blocking? I don't know. I've deleted (but not blocked) a lot of people on my MSN IM whom I do not chat with often or at all because I didn't like my list too long, but they can still send me IMs. They don't get messages saying "Your buddy has you off their list." Otherwise, they probably would've asked me why I deleted them. That's what I meant about "privacy." The deletions aren't permanent on MSN IM, so their IMs will still go through, but I just can't see when they come online. Maybe Niki didn't ask that. Niki, what do you mean?

My yahoo has it - I know exactly when somebody signs on or off, is actively using or if it's idle. Also has a feature that you can put on yourself to let others know if you've stepped away from the computer too. Very useful! :D

Ah, okay. Then maybe I am the only one who misunderstood the question. Eeep!

Hehe, I know what you mean though, Cathie. My MSN does the same. I can tell when my buddies on my "Friends" list signs on and off, their status, etc. I LOVE this feature. It's benefited me in various occasions just like for my guy friend. :D

AIM has that, but she's talking about seeing whose buddy list YOU'RE on, not who's on your buddy list ;) :p

Anyway, I wouldn't really like that....

Yeah, I think I've version 7. Here's how you do it:
1.) Open MSN messenger
2.) Click on Tools
3.) Click on Options
4.) Click on Privacy
5.) Click on View

That probably doesn't make much sense, so here's a step by step in pictures :)

Superstar, ah, I see now. Thanks for the steps! I did not know that, actually. I mean, I have seen that tab, but I just didn't look too into it. Hmmm... that's interesting. I am now curious to check it out. Thanks again!!

I hope they never do that. Sometimes you put people on your BL and you'd prefer they didn't know you added them.

I don't use MSN so I don't know, is it like Yahoo! where you have to approve someone to let them put you on your buddy list? Because I think that would be easier to keep track of than say AIM where you can add anyone you want.

I see you have a mile-long block list...mine is like that too. Some of the people on my block list have been there since 1999, when I first started using MSN.

Yeah, I get alot of friend requests, since my email address is thatssoraven@hotmail.com, fans of the show probably add me without ever talking to me. I used to allow everyone that sent me a request but I talked to alot of very strange people, I started to block people I don't know

Me too.....since I'm not popular I love spying on the popular kids from my school!

Anyway, I still think it'd be totally awesome if I could see who has me on their buddy list. Probably not a whole a lot of people, though....

Wow... just reading about all of adding your popular classmates online from your school is something that was not in the cards or existed when I was your ages. Would've been cool to actually chat with those popular kids. I think it's a nice ice breaker, actually. Not JUST chatting with the popular kids for the sake of it, but chatting with them via words written. This way, people are not judged for how they look but rather what they have to say as a person. It's that whole "behind the screen/faceless" communication. It's kinda like on these forums. Nice....

bleh, if they don't like her for playing innocent games...who needs 'em :snob:

Messing with kids was always fun. I did that often. Hell I still will come the opportunity to do so with someone else. I figure, if I'm too shy to mess with people in real life, the keyboard is the next best thing I have.

Yeah, that's why it's so easy to find an online boyfriend.....but of course I'm allowed to do that even though I once tried a while ago.

Whenever someone views your profile on AIM, it lists their name and the time they viewed and stuff.

I'd really love to, but I can't because my parents don't let me talk to strangers online :(
I sneak on here to talk to my online friends.
