View Full Version : Compare Your Height With Celebrities Fleet 07-24-2005, 01:26 AM I got this list of celebrity heights from a book called "The Celebrity Almanac" (1991) Here's the list for female celebs, next I'll post the males: consentida 07-24-2005, 02:02 AM Well, me and Estelle Getty are the same height. lol. Fleet 07-24-2005, 02:06 AM Really? Well, at least you're not 4'7"! consentida 07-24-2005, 02:21 AM Really? Well, at least you're not 4'7"! Yeah. Thank God for that. My cousin is about 4'8" and she's 23 or 24 now. Most people in my family are...vertically challenged. Number 9 Dream 07-24-2005, 02:24 AM  ME TOO! Well, me and Estelle Getty are the same height. lol. Fleet 07-24-2005, 03:08 AM I read somewhere that anyone less than 4'8" is considered a midget. Anyway, here are the male celebs: (Part one) Fleet 07-24-2005, 03:30 AM Here is part two: Fleet 07-24-2005, 03:37 AM Part three: Superstar 07-24-2005, 04:18 AM John Travolta is the same height as me. Dean Winchester 07-24-2005, 04:29 AM I'm the same height as The Fonz. lol (yes, I'm short) Dean Winchester 07-24-2005, 05:29 AM kinda funny that Gary Coleman is an entire foot taller than Emmanuel Lewis Courtnee 07-24-2005, 09:43 AM Me and Dolly Parton are the same height lol. 5'0 OH YEAH!!!! *MIBabe03* 07-24-2005, 09:51 AM Ann-Margret and Alan Ladd are my height. I have no idea who the guy is. barwars 07-24-2005, 10:11 AM Hell yeah.... Bill Cosby, my hero. Also: Julia Child is a beast. TJL 07-24-2005, 10:18 AM Charles Manson - crazy and short. ;) TripperFan 07-24-2005, 12:40 PM I read somewhere that anyone less than 4'8" is considered a midget. Anyway, here are the male celebs: (Part one) Actually the correct term is now "little person". They consider "midget" as derogatory. Oddly enough, the "requirement height" is 4'10" - I would have thought it to be lower. :) barwars 07-24-2005, 01:10 PM Actually the correct term is now "little person". I'm only 5 feet tall. PZelda 07-24-2005, 01:28 PM I'm a 1/2 inch taller than Imogene Coca, Cyndi Lauper, Bo Derek, Bernedatte Peters and Sammy Davis Jr. :D I always thought Cyndi was taller than that. :grrbald:  so am I. I'm only 5 feet tall. You're also nearly 14. You still have a few years left of growing in height. I was 5' in 8th grade, too. I grew some more in high school and finished growing when I graduated from HS. barwars 07-24-2005, 01:32 PM  so am I. I'm only 5 feet tall. No you're not, you're 2 inches too tall. Just missed the cut off.... which means you get to be short, but you get no benefits. Titania 07-24-2005, 01:55 PM carmen miranda, eva gabor, and paula abdul.... also veronica lake and natalie wood. yeah 5'2''! Heart Shaped Box 07-24-2005, 02:00 PM Wow..I got Lucille Ball. :D Number 9 Dream 07-24-2005, 02:01 PM I never knew John Ritter was 6 foot....thanks for posting this, Fleet :D TripperFan 07-24-2005, 02:03 PM PC  Not being anal - its just its the fact, and with Seth's recent reminder, let's make sure that all groups are included. We don't know if there are members with the condition or not and I'm sure nobody wants to offend them - right? I have a couple of friends who are little people and they say it really bugs them - they even prefer the proper term of dwarf over midget. JDS84 07-24-2005, 02:06 PM Me and Sally Field are the same height 5'2" TripperFan 07-24-2005, 02:07 PM  so am I. I'm only 5 feet tall. You're not - the height limit is 4'10" - you're above that and probably still growing. ;) I Love John Ritter 07-24-2005, 02:27 PM I never knew John Ritter was 6 foot....thanks for posting this, Fleet :D I've always thought he was 6'1" because in the episode of "Three's Company" entitled "Love Thy Neighbor", he said he was 6'1" on the phone. But then again, in the episode "Mighty Mouth" he says, "All 6 feet, 180lbs of me." when he introduced himself to the gym instructor. So I guess he was somewhere around those lines, and 6 feet sounds right. Anyway, I know I'm the same height as Joyce DeWitt, but I don't see her on that list. I'm the same height as Shirley Temple Black. Mikado 07-24-2005, 02:27 PM You're not - the height limit is 4'10" - you're above that and probably still growing. ;) I'm a 5'1" male....too tall to be a "little person", too short not to be a freak...it sucks :( barwars 07-24-2005, 02:55 PM Not being anal - its just its the fact, and with Seth's recent reminder, let's make sure that all groups are included. I especially don't like the term "African American", because its used to describe anyone thats black. I've even heard of someone describing someone from France as being African-American. Screw it, the term is black. TripperFan 07-24-2005, 03:08 PM Ohh, I understand. I just mean being PC in general. I especially don't like the term "African American", because its used to describe anyone thats black. I've even heard of someone describing someone from France as being African-American. Screw it, the term is black. I'm with ya there! Why would I call blacks in Canada "African-Americans"???? To me they're just Canadians who are black. I'm a white Canadian - not a "Scottish-Canadian" I don't think the average black considers it a derogatory phrase at all. I don't know why the term is being pushed so much the past couple of decades. What about the people who come from the Carribean or West Indies (which most of the blacks in Canada do) - isn't that going to make them feel left out? Sorry for going off topic there, but it is something I'm still trying to figure out. Even the term midget - for years my mother told me it was preferred over dwarf - just shows how confusing it can get. Personally, I find the term "Little Person" derogatory - like they're not up to being a "Regular Person"! I can see why terms like vertically challenged come up. Me - I'm 5'8" and when in heels, sometimes feel like I should be related to Gary Byrd. A couple of inches shorter would have been nice. I wouldn't have been stuck in the back row with all the guys in most of my class pictures. Fleet 07-24-2005, 03:08 PM Ann-Margret and Alan Ladd are my height. I have no idea who the guy is. I'm the same height as Shirley Temple Black. Ya just gotta love TV. I am a HUGE fan of Hunter. It's a cop show, and Rick Hunter (played by Fred Dryer) and Dee Dee McCall (Stepfanie Kramer) are sergeants -- the main characters. McCall has said many times that she is 5'6" (Kramer's height in real life) and Hunter is 6'6" (Dryer's height in real life, as well). However...they got away with lying their asses off about their weight on the show. There was an episode where Hunter and McCall were getting on a 'copter at the end. The guy helping them on said the weight limit was something like 375 lbs or whatever and he asked McCall, "How much do you weigh?" and she said "105" and then Hunter said, "the kid is 75 and I'm 200" and I was just shaking my head... if you were 5'6 and 105, you would be sticks and bones. Same thing if you were 6'6 and 200 lbs. It's just not realistic. But it's just a fictional TV show, so they don't have to adhere to society's standards... :) Joyce is 5'3 and 1/2" My height. Cooooool. :D Number 9 Dream 07-24-2005, 03:48 PM Cool! Is one of those girls in your avatar you? :D I'm the same height as Debbie Reynolds, Bette Midler, and Carrie Fisher :D Cool ;) TripperFan 07-24-2005, 03:49 PM I don't see Sly Stallone there, but from the Judge Dread costume I saw at Planet Hollywood, he's a shorty. Wow - that's much taller than I would have thought. Thanks Fleet! :D (I couldn't find him anywhere - I'm tall, but half blind!) Mikado 07-24-2005, 04:27 PM If you watch GET SMART carefully, youll notice that Barbara Feldon is often in a semi-crouched position....thats because The star , Don Adams , was SHORTER than she was, and she was trying to placate his ego! TripperFan 07-24-2005, 04:30 PM It was worse for me, I was stuck in front with the girls...dead centre yet, wished i could just hide!!!!!! Oh yeah, that would be a drag for a guy. It's like when I was in grade 7. My "boyfriend" was about a foot shorter than me - we could even stuff him in his locker he was so small. He didn't mind though when we slowed danced!!! He wasn't dumb! :D Actually I ran into him when we were both about 20 and he hadn't gotten much taller - I didn't think he would. He was still dating a tall girl. I'm the same height EXACTLY as my husband - doesn't bother him a bit. I figure as long as the guy's o.k. with it - so am I. I dated guys of all heights. Afterall, in the movies, wasn't he considered a "heavyweight" boxer? Fleet 07-24-2005, 04:36 PM BTW, there is a warning at the bottom of the men's height list... "The heights of famous people are often exaggerated. Use these figures with caution!" I do see some that don't make sense. For instance, Michael Jackson is listed as 6'2". I doubt that, more like 5'10" or 5'11" sounds right to me. Number 9 Dream 07-24-2005, 04:40 PM  a.k.a. "We may be lying but that's for you to figure out." Where did you find this book? You'd think - but I've had laser eye surgery even!! I think I'm getting to the point I could use a "tune up" again. Actually, I didn't look for his name that high because I was so certain he was shorter. I'm sure I've heard other people mention that he looks a lot smaller in real life than what you would think - especially for those roles he plays (as you say). I was surprised to hear of Al Pacino and Tom Cruise's heights too - I thought they were a lot taller. But as that warning says - they can be exaggerated - I'm sure that Stallone one is! ;) Mikado 07-24-2005, 05:09 PM What is his height? I would guess 5'8" to 5'9". Where did you find this book? It looks really cool. More like "the celebs or their agents are lying!" I know I bought the book new because a lower price isn't marked on the inside cover. I probably bought it at B. Dalton books or Walden's. I did write the date of purchase on the first page (March 6, 1994).
