I've always thought he was 6'1" because in the episode of "Three's Company" entitled "Love Thy Neighbor", he said he was 6'1" on the phone. But then again, in the episode "Mighty Mouth" he says, "All 6 feet, 180lbs of me." when he introduced himself to the gym instructor. So I guess he was somewhere around those lines, and 6 feet sounds right.

Anyway, I know I'm the same height as Joyce DeWitt, but I don't see her on that list. I'm the same height as Shirley Temple Black.

I'm with ya there! Why would I call blacks in Canada "African-Americans"???? To me they're just Canadians who are black. I'm a white Canadian - not a "Scottish-Canadian" :rolleyes:

I don't think the average black considers it a derogatory phrase at all. I don't know why the term is being pushed so much the past couple of decades. What about the people who come from the Carribean or West Indies (which most of the blacks in Canada do) - isn't that going to make them feel left out?

I am a HUGE fan of Hunter. It's a cop show, and Rick Hunter (played by Fred Dryer) and Dee Dee McCall (Stepfanie Kramer) are sergeants -- the main characters. McCall has said many times that she is 5'6" (Kramer's height in real life) and Hunter is 6'6" (Dryer's height in real life, as well). However...they got away with lying their asses off about their weight on the show. There was an episode where Hunter and McCall were getting on a 'copter at the end. The guy helping them on said the weight limit was something like 375 lbs or whatever and he asked McCall, "How much do you weigh?" and she said "105" and then Hunter said, "the kid is 75 and I'm 200" and I was just shaking my head... if you were 5'6 and 105, you would be sticks and bones. Same thing if you were 6'6 and 200 lbs. It's just not realistic. But it's just a fictional TV show, so they don't have to adhere to society's standards... :)

I visited Madame Tussaud's when I was in London last year, and they had a Slyvester Stallone wax figure there. Twasn't very tall - I'd say 5'8, 5'9 at least.

Actually, I didn't look for his name that high because I was so certain he was shorter. I'm sure I've heard other people mention that he looks a lot smaller in real life than what you would think - especially for those roles he plays (as you say).

I was surprised to hear of Al Pacino and Tom Cruise's heights too - I thought they were a lot taller.

I know I bought the book new because a lower price isn't marked on the inside cover. I probably bought it at B. Dalton books or Walden's. I did write the date of purchase on the first page (March 6, 1994).

Actually, the shortest professional basketball player was only 5'4" and there is currently one who is 5'5".

Henry really couldn't hide his relative shortness on "Happy Days." Especially when he was standing next to Ron, Donny and Anson who were all 5'9" to 5'10".

The shortest player I read about was in a Guinness Book of World Records, but from the 1990s, so some things in there are invalid. Yeah, Earl is the guy I was talking about.

Me, too. Everything I've read over the years has the average from 5'9" to 5'10". I thought the average would be about 5'11" for men and about 5'6" for women.

BTW, the average weight for men is 172 lbs.; for women, 134 lbs. Watch for a new thread on this...
