View Full Version : Hey middle school boys, lemme ask you somethin'
G-Force Glockstar 07-23-2005, 05:56 PM First of all, I know none of you are from my school, and I don't mean to be mean to anyone.
Do you boys just look at girls on the outside on how pretty they are and then start dating them? Cause boys (at my school) just don't stop bugging me about how ugly ugly UGLY I am! I can see why boys would look around and think "ooh, she's freaking hot, I'll ask her out!" or "Ugh, that girl over there is so ugly.....I hate her!". I wish boys would look at me in the inside before the outside. I need a boyfriend, about every other girl I know has one! I also look younger than I really am.....I look between the ages 10 and 12....one time I was at a resturant and the stupid waiter gave me a kids menu and my 11 yr old sister an adults menu!
One more question, please. Can you please give me some advice on what attracts to you guys? Thanks!
Max Whittaker 07-23-2005, 06:14 PM Listen. You don't need a boyfriend to fullfill yourself. You are an individual. There's no need to complicate things by bringing an inmature male creature into the picture. Hold off for a while. You will feel lonely, but there is more to life than mates. You'd likely only meet idiots in middle school anyway.
I'll tell you what I find attractive in a female. Self-confidence. Honesty. Kindness to all creatures. A love of life and liturature. An apprieciation in the simple things, like an ant crawling on the ground. A love of animals. And especially the unique experiences and perspective of the world.
One of the things I find really admirable in either sex is the ability to disregard what others think of you. Those guys that say you are ugly are heartless jerks. They mean nothing, in the grand scheme of things. You must like yourself for who you are.
In any case, I've seen a picture of you. I'd date you if I were younger. You'd be better off without boys who would disrespect you.
EmoJoe 07-23-2005, 06:17 PM You dont really need a boyfriend in middle school. People only have them for popularity. So dont worry about it.

Aw :biglove:
vienna waits 07-23-2005, 06:19 PM you are YOUNG and nobody your age has any real relationship. everyone is pretty much at their worst in middle school so just ignore them for now and realize you don't need one of those boys to feel good.
Max Whittaker 07-23-2005, 06:22 PM In my opinion, you really shouldn't date until at least College. It gets too complicated and most boys are just that: boys. There should be no hurry to grow up. It happens fast enough as it is....
Kazza 07-23-2005, 08:20 PM Don't succumb to peer pressure. Enjoy your life sans boys all you can.
Czas na Zywiec 07-23-2005, 08:35 PM I have a feeling you're just pressured to get a boyfriend so you'll look cool in front of the girls.
I need a boyfriend, about every other girl I know has one!
Trust me, those are all the wrong reasons to even get with somone. You don't just call up someone and poof, you're magically boyfriend/girlfriend. You get to know them, go out a few times, and if it feels good, then you can move on to that level. This friend of mine has known a guy for well over a year before they started going out, and just this week got together as boyfriend/girlfriend. These things take time. And trust me, at your age, you have all the time in the world.
Mijada 07-23-2005, 09:11 PM Unfortunately most middle school age boys (and girls) are like that. They mainly judge people by their looks and the clothes they wear. I knew many kids when I was in middle school who were nice and friendly and would do anything to help you out but because they weren't "cute or pretty" they were the least popular with the opposite sex. Things will change as you move onto HS and guys will become more mature and see beyond just the looks. You can't mope around feeling sorry for yourself though. Boys aren't going to find that kind of quality attractive.
Anyways, I agree with everyone else. You don't need a boyfriend at your age. Those "relationships" usually don't last beyond a few weeks anyway. I didn't get my first boyfriend till I was 19 and it was well worth the wait. He was a great guy who treated me right, didn't do drugs and didn't pressure me for sex. The only reason we broke up was because he was 7 years older than I and was ready to settle down and get married and I still had college to finish.
For now just concentrate on getting good grades and keep on being a good person and I'm sure in a few short years these guys will grow up and see you for who you really are.
TripperFan 07-24-2005, 12:57 AM Yup - what everyone's saying Nik - I know it seems like you're not "as cool" as the other girls, but don't worry about it. I was in the same position. Just focus on the good person you are. And no matter what they're saying, you are NOT ugly by any means. I've seen your picture too, and they're crazy. Besides, I'm sure 90% of these "relationships" last only a few weeks, a couple of months at most - its not like any of them are going to end up going anywhere anyway. ;)
Superstar 07-24-2005, 04:48 AM You don't need a boyfriend, you'd probably be better off without one.
barwars 07-24-2005, 10:04 AM You don't just call up someone and poof, you're magically boyfriend/girlfriend.
Well, that is how middle school (and some high school) relationships start. Because kids are corny.
I say don't date until you can drive. Then again.... isn't having mom drive the coolest thing ever?!
*MIBabe03* 07-24-2005, 10:31 AM Believe me, you don't need one. I'm 20, in college, and I've never had one. I'm actually grateful that I don't right now. It would just screw up my plans for what I want later next year.
Courtnee 07-24-2005, 10:42 AM You don't need one,and everyone is beautiful in their own way. If someone tells you your ugly remember that you are a strong girl and you don't need a boyfriend to fuffil you.

Niki, I am not a boy, in middle school, or young, but I wanted to comment on this whole "young dating" façade.
What I am finding is that, no offense, but I think most junior high kids are way too immature: both boys and girls. Not saying ALL junior high kids, but most. Dating goes beyond the looks. These boys who call you "ugly" and everything are probably just doing it because they know it gets under your skin. In reality, people who are serious about liking others are going to look beyond the looks. In your case with these boys, it's apparent they are probably just "tranced" by the whole looks thing or of peer pressure. They say stuff like that to just fit in. A sign they are immature. Dating is much deeper than that: commonalities, personality, attitude, mutuality, etc, etc. Those are things that count on the inside.
Just focus on being a good person and befriending people. Smile at them, show you have good self-esteem, don't feel miserable, etc, etc... Show them the best person you are by being yourself. People will like that, beforehand. Just relax, okay? :)
Titania 07-24-2005, 02:10 PM im not a boy, nor am i in middle school...but my two cents anyways...
in retrospect, i wish i hadnt dated in middle school- most people still have no idea who they are, nearly everyones shallow, nobody knows what theyre doing, and everyone feels like theyre abnormal.
everybodys confused! ;)
but trust me, it wont be like that forever, people (even the boys!) will mature eventually and start to see past appearance. you seem like you have an awesome personality- and that is what counts in the long run, even though it rarely feels like that in middle school.
