View Full Version : Aquaman on Smallville!
spunkygirl 07-23-2005, 05:26 PM Aquaman on Smallville!
Tom Welling himself revealed today at the WB's 2005 TCA Press Tour that the fourth episode of Smallville's fifth season will feature a guest appearance by Aquaman.
The character will be a love interest for Lois Lane. "Which is interesting, because Erica Durance who plays Lois, in real life is terrified of the water," Tom says.
UPDATE: We've now posted some spoilers for the episode

Céline 08-28-2005, 03:40 PM He's going to be Lois's love interest,it will be fun,I'm sure.It would be cool if Bart(the flash) would come back ;)

I love that he's wearing the traditional Aquaman colors.
Now when the heck is Bizarro gonna show up on "Smallville?"
;)
Wings#1ShowPeriod 10-23-2005, 10:22 PM IMO, Aqua was a good episode. I like the part where Lois was in here bikini, liked the mini battle with Aquaman and Clark.. also enjoyed the comments Clark and Lex were saying to each other. The introduction of Prof fine was good as well.

I was wondering what you guys thought of the Aquaman episode.
All in all, it was pretty good. There were a few good in-jokes (loved the "JLA" line at the end) and seeing Erica Durance in a bikini was an added bonus.
I guess Lana has chosen not to question Clark's rise from the grave in last week's episode - I'm not sure if I like that.

I thought that SMALLVILLE's "Aqua" was a good episode. It had some nice
touches (Arthur Curry wearing Aquaman's orange and green color scheme,
the "JLA" reference, and Erica Durance's bikini). The Professor (played by
BUFFY and ANGEL's James Marsters) will later be revealed to be a Superman
villain, Brainiac. It's interesting that, like Lex Luthor, he is introduced as a
sort of friend to Clark instead of an adversary. This season we are, though,
beginning to see Lex's dark side. Does anyone else think that this will be the
final season for SMALLVILLE? Clark and Lana have graduated from high
school. How much longer can they remain in Smallville? Would a spinoff,
called (what else?) METROPOLIS be a cool follow-up? What do you think?

I don't think this will be the last season. If it was, I'm pretty sure the WB would let us know every time they run a promo for the show that this was "the final season."
A "Metropolis" spinoff would be a cool idea. It would be cool to see Clark in a more urban setting.
spunkygirl 10-24-2005, 06:34 PM If the ratings stay good they'll have a another season :) "Aqua" pulled in 6.4 milion viewers, it was the highest rated episode of the season so far :D
I really liked this episode, thought it was really good, I especially loved the end scene with Clark and Lois with the Superman theme playing and the red and blue with the yellow light shining on them :D
Chad Michael Murray 10-24-2005, 08:54 PM This guy is hot. 'Nuff said.
Céline 10-25-2005, 02:44 PM I was suprised because many fans said (before I watch the ep) that it was an awful episode. No,I think it was very good.A.C was not great but,he was good enough for this episode. The best part was Lex,he was great and extremely evil,I like him this way.
A.C. was not great but,he was good enough for this episode.
Seriously though, if he referred to Clark as "bro" one more time, I was going to shoot the TV.
;)
Dr. Thong 10-25-2005, 06:43 PM He's going to be Lois's love interest,it will be fun,I'm sure.It would be cool if Bart(the flash) would come back ;)
Bart's really not the Flash. In the comics, he started out as a speedster called Impulse and has assumed the identity of Kid Flash. Okay, my comic book geek flag is flying again!!
Rachel3118 10-28-2005, 04:21 PM I liked the episode. It was my favorite so far this season but it was pretty good. I like how he wore orange and green and Lois kept mentioning it.
Lana not questioning Clark is wierd. Even though it doesn't make sense I haven't thought about it much. I think it's funny that he can cover up his death and the gun shot by wearing a small bandage. I see that Lana is just happy to have Clark back but it's not like mentioning the miracle will cause her to loose him. Oh well I didn't really care. I'm just glad Clark and Lana are finally dating.
I'm not sure I like Lex's dark side. It seems so sudden. He's suddenly doing things I couldn't see him doing back in season for. It seems like the changes should have been more suddel.
It seems like this could be the last season with things starting to seem more like the real super man. It wouldn't make sence for them not to tell us it's the last season. I really hope it's not the last. I don't think I like the idea of the Metropolis spin off. It would be fun to watch but it seems like it's still the same show and not a spin off.

Bizarro (a.k.a. Professor Fine) had a significant part in this week's Halloween
episode ("Thirst"). Favorite line: Prof. Fine (James Marsters, who played
vampire Spike all those years on BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER and ANGEL):
"Clark, there's no such thing as vampires." A great inside-joke!
spunkygirl 10-28-2005, 07:07 PM Professor Fine is Brainiac not Bizzaro ;)
Professor Fine is Brainiac not Bizzaro ;)
You are correct!
However, if we were on Bizarro World, you would be wrong.
;)

I think it's about time that Lex discovers his dark side.I thought it was so weird to see him acting too nice,it was unrealistic. He's Lex Luthor not Clark Kent's bro;)
I think a sninoff would be great but,I doubt that it will happen because of the new Superman's movie. Also after 5 or 6 seasons,I think the cast would want to do other projects.

FYI: According to the TV GUIDE website ...
JUST ADD WATER: WB is confirming what anyone who read last week's Ask Ausiello already knew: The network is developing a Smallville spin-off based on the classic DC Comics character Aquaman. Little is known about the offshoot, but sources confirm that Alan Ritchson — who played Aqua on Smallville last month — will not be back in the title role. However, if WB ever gives Absman his own show, Ritchson will be the first one they call.

I have been hoping for this day for so long......

Let's hope that it lasts longer than THE MAN FROM ATLANTIS (NBC, 1977-1978).
starring the then-unknown Patrick Duffy (later of DALLAS fame). I never saw
that show but from what I've heard, I didn't miss much. I wonder why they
didn't do AQUAMAN instead. Must have been a legal thing.

I think I actually remember that show! Wow I feel old:lol:
As long as he's not riding a giant seahorse with his little buddy "Aqualad," I guess I'll watch the show.
;)

More Aquaman Details Revealed In Daily Variety
Daily Variety's print editions today revealed more about the Aquaman project. Here are some highlights:
* Creators Millar and Gough are hoping to create "a grounded version of the Aquaman mythology." The focus will be on an Arthur Curry who "knows what he wants to do with his life, which is to protect the oceans."
* Curry will have some superpowers, though he's only still beginning to understand them. Powers will include breathing underwater and super-strength underwater. Even a little bit of water will enhance his power, which will allow the producers to explore some stories on land.
* WB Entertainment's David Janollari said that when work on the Smallville episode "Aqua" progressed, "it became clear there was a WB series in Aquaman... potentially the next-generation hit for us in the vein of Smallville."
* While Gough and Millar considered a possible Lois Lane series, "this was the first idea where we really thought we had a franchise, where we could see 100 episodes," Millar told Variety.
* Popular Smallville director Greg Beeman will be directing the series pilot, according to Daily Variety.
