Its amazing to see the state of the tag team situation for BOTH brands of the WWE right now.

Back in 2004 when the draft lottery split up several tag teams, it spelled the end for the Raw tag division while the Smackdown tag division still had a few here and there. But now with the 2005 draft lottery both brands have been wiped out of tag teams.

For Raw:

Hurricane and Rosey - Raw Tag Champs

Hearthrobs (Antonio and Romeo)

For Smackdown:

MNM (Johnny Nitro and Joey Mercury) - Smackdown Tag Champs

Road Warrior Animal and Heidenrich

You also could throw in:

the bWo (Steven Richards and Nova) or (Steven Richards and Blue Meanie)

the Mexicools (Psychosis and Super Crazy)

the new FBI (Nunzio and Big Vito) - former WCW star Big Vito recently signed with WWE and has been teaming with Nunzio as of late on house shows, this could be a tag team if they decide to use them on TV.

I can see now why the WWE had the Hurricane and Rosey win the Raw tag titles at Backlash in April, obviously they did not plan on moving either to Smackdown and also had planned on breaking up every team at the time in Maven and Simon Dean, William Regal and Tajiri, and La Resistance (Sylvain Grenier and Rob Conway). The Hurricane and Rosey have been the ultimate jobber team for the past 2 years on Raw, and suddenly they are given the titles just because they knew Raw would not have any other teams, add to that I hardly ever recall Hurricane and Rosey ever getting a credible win.

As for Smackdown, all of these teams are jobber teams, except for the Mexicools, one idea is having Juventud win the cruiserweight title and have Psychosis and Super Crazy win the tag titles, but I think its a bad idea sticking tag titles on cruiserweights, plus the team of Heidenrich and Animal just does not cut it for me. Animal is way past his prime and a new Road Warriors I doubt would work especially since Hawk has been dead for 2 years and it did not work in 1998 when Droz replaced Hawk, when Hawk was battling his addiction.

What about when Hurricane beat the Rock?

I strongly disagree, cruiserweights can add alot of excitement to any division.

I am talking about Hurricane and Rosey as a tag team, they have been together over two years and did nothing until now.

wow......how time flies. i can still remember watching those great TLC matches in Summerslam of 2001 and WM17. Does anybody remember when Edge speared Jeff Hardy off the top of the ladder? Awesome move!

But now, the Tag Team division is gone.:(

The tag-team division in the WWE sucks. The RAW side has no credible challengers whatsoever. The Heartthrobs are certified jobbers and La Resistance is no more. No one wants another makeshift tag-team either. Hurricane and Rosey are plain boring. The gimmick got stale in 2003 and both of them need to be repackaged. The WWE should just scrap the belts all together. They mean nothing now.

Smackdown! only has MNM. Unless they bring in Rotten/Balls or Roadkill/Doring then their in deep trouble too. I hope to God that Heidenreich and Animal don't win tonight. It'll be the worse atrocity to ever occur on the brand.
