Breaking News: WWE Releases Ivory
Date Added: July 22, 2005
In a situation similar to that of the Dudleys, WWE has opted not to renew Ivory's contract. The company released a statement on its website Friday afternoon:
"Ivory’s World Wrestling Entertainment television contract will not be renewed. She will make her final appearance on The WWE Experience this weekend. WWE wishes Ivory well and hopes to work with her again in the near future," said WWE.com.
After the massive roster cuts two weeks ago, there had been a rumor that WWE had considered releasing an additional four specific workers. It is not known if Ivory was included on that list of four.
---------------------------------------------------------------
Ivory had been with the WWE since 1999. She was initially brought in as the manager of Sexual Chocolate Mark Henry. She later went on to compete in the Women's Division, where she captured the Women's Title in June 1999 and again in October 1999. She would hold the title until late 1999. Then in late 2000 Ivory was repackaged as part of Right to Censor where she captured her third women's title and held it until April 2001. Shortly after this Right to Censor disbanded and Ivory became a trainer for Tough Enough 2. She would return to the WWE and joined up with the WCW/ECW alliance and later join the Smackdown brand during the Roster split in 2002. After competing on Smackdown for awhile, Ivory jumped to the Raw Brand in November 2002 where she competed for the Women's Title as a FACE for most of 2003, she retired from active competition in 2004 and became the host of Spike TV's WWE Experience until her release.
