Thanks in advance  Ashlee Karen* 07-20-2005, 04:32 PM First of all, congrats on scoring your first date. :D Second, I suggest you take turns sharing your life stories...Sounds boring, but you'll find out lots of interesting stuff about him, I'm pretty sure. And he'll get to know you more too! :) Then again, how should I know? I've never been on one! *tear* But anyway, good luck and have lots of fun! MsOrange 07-20-2005, 04:56 PM My first suggestions is to take NO suggestions! Don't take notes... just let it flow. Lots more fun that way. Good luck, and have fun! Heres to the first of many! Courtnee 07-20-2005, 05:00 PM Thanks guys! TJL 07-20-2005, 05:00 PM Don't talk about other guys. Karen* 07-20-2005, 05:32 PM Wait, are you guys even going out to dinner? Some people like, go to an amusement park or a movie on their first date. Courtnee 07-20-2005, 05:41 PM Wait, are you guys even going out to dinner? Penny Lane 07-20-2005, 07:15 PM Don't talk about other guys. And above all, no belching. ;) Take TJL's advice! It's Gospel!  Rhiannon 07-20-2005, 07:53 PM I haven't been there yet. Lucky. pissed: I'm predicting Fuddrucker's or Denny's for my first date. Mine was some local BBQ place. How lame. swedeace 07-20-2005, 07:54 PM Well, it's much like sitting and talking with a person and letting conversations flow. It'll feel natural. Start off by complimenting him on something and then ask questions. It'll then feel more natural because it'll keep the convo and attention span going. I did that with this guy I was so afraid to approach. It wasn't a date, but it was kinda like a pre-date thing just to see how I liked talking with him. It was working because we were so natural. And to think that he is SO shy, too, so I was sooo nervous upon approaching him. I was intimidated by his shyness. I find if you just talk and let things flow freely, the other person will be more receptive. Be yourself. :) TripperFan 07-20-2005, 09:09 PM Take TJL's advice - don't talk about other guys (unless specifically asked, which you won't be). Ask questions about HIM - be interested. Just make sure you don't talk TOO much - sometimes out of nervousness people can - ask him his interests - if he mentions a sport, even if it bores you silly, ask more questions about it and seem interested. Other than that, yeah, let the conversation just flow easily. If you hit it off, it just naturally will. Don't overdo it on fragrance either. :D dawsongirl 07-21-2005, 03:18 AM Date??? It's a swimming party and I really don't like the idea of being half naked in front of alot of people. Plus I will be the only girl. Courtnee 07-23-2005, 10:04 PM I went. It was sooooo much fun!!!!!!!!!!! TripperFan 07-23-2005, 11:15 PM GOOD FOR YOU!!! I'm so glad you went and had a blast!! :D When you said that about being half-naked, I could fully understand - I've always hated pool parties for that very reason, but that's great that you didn't let it bother you. Just proves if you take small risks in life, sometimes you're pleasantly surprised!! ;) |
