The series has been nominated for two 2005 Emmy Awards -- Glenn Close for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series and CCH Pounder for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.

Shawn Ryan is the creator and executive producer of "The Shield" for Fox Television Studios in association with Sony Pictures Television. Scott Brazil and Kevin Arkadie are co-executive producers.

A great pick up. If Spike TV adds more shows like this, I might actually start watching the channel.

Another cable network willing to destroy this country's moral values.

Huh? It's the best show on basic cable or network TV today, and top 5 overall. It may not be "Father Knows Best" but it isn't Howard Stern or Fox News either.

Will Spike TV gut and censor this like they do with everything else they put their dirty paws on?

I wouldn't waste my time watching this great show on spike tv. Can't see how they won't butcher this show so it can be shown on this network. Am glad I have all 4 of the seasons released so far on dvd.
