It's impossible to name 10 because this decade was horrible for NBC, i can only name 3

Sanford and Son

CPO Sharkey

Sanford And Son
Chico And The Man
Rockford Files
Police Woman
The NBC Mystery Movie
Life And Times Of Grizzly Addams
Little House On The Praire
Emergency
CPO Sharkey
Adam-12

Only 3 sitcoms and it was getting harder to find shows as the list went on.

Absolutely. If TV Land would only put them on I'd be very happy. :)

surprised nobody mentioned Diff'rent Strokes. Granted the show was more 80's, but it was the sitcom hit NBC needed in the late 70's.

You're right. I should have added that one too although it lasted more in the 80's than the 70's.

I'll count all shows that aired on NBC sometime between 1/1/70 and 12/31/79...

"Little House on the Prairie"
"CHiPs"
"The Rockford Files"
"Emergency!"
"Sanford and Son"
"Diff'rent Strokes"
"The Facts of Life"

Couldn't do it...

Prime time wasn't specified, so I guess we can include the Tonight Show, Saturday Night Live, Midnight Special...

I looooved that show as a kid. I remember it was the last show I was allowed to watch before going to bed on Sunday nights.

I used to watch it when it was on Saturdays ( which was before it moved to Sundays). It was teamed with BJ And The Bear and I never missed NBC on Saturday night when they aired. Unfortunately they only aired together for a little over a year.

Then I'd also like to add Days of our Lives, Another World, and The Doctors to my list.

I saw a Buck Rogers episode on Sci-Fi the other night and kinda liked it. Not to the extent to spend $80 on the DVD, but that was an NBC show from the 70's, right?

Just barely. It premiered September 1979.

Ten NBC prime time shows (comedy, drama and variety) that aired during the 70's I enjoy:

Flip Wilson Show
Sanford & Son
Chico & The Man
Van Dyke & Company
Richard Pryor Show
CPO Sharkey
Real People
Supertrain
Diff'rent Strokes
Facts of Life

Solomon's right about it being a bad decade for NBC: CPO Sharkey lasted less than two years, VAn Dyke & Company and Supertrain were on just a few months and the Richard Pryor Show was only 4 episodes.

True, (http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/showthread.php?p=2162201) but at least I did like the show. I'd have to see it again before I can say I'd want the dvd.

wow, you're right. For some reason, I was figuring the show was around 77-79, not 79-81.

Now that you mention it, I forgot some game shows too. "Card Sharks" was NBC, I believe. As was one of the 70s versions of "Pyramid."

Sanford and Son
Ironside

Flip Wilson Show
Diff'rent Strokes

That's a really small list. NBC really had an off decade.

The Practice with Danny Thomas and Shelley Fabares
The Little People/Brian Keith Show with Brian Keith and Shelley Fabares
The Flip Wilson Show
Laugh-In
The Dean Martin Show
CPO Sharkey
Chico and the Man
Sanford and Son
The Girl with Something Extra
Van Dyke and Company

Over half these shows are short lived with the potential of being hits. They were great shows to watch with great stars and cast to watch.

Another World
Days of Our Lives
Sanford & Son
Facts of Life
Flip Wilson Show
Diff'rent Strokes
Password Plus
Card Sharks
Jeopardy!
Wheel of Fortune

Too bad there weren't many sitcoms to list for me in this decade. In the daytime however, NBC had plenty of shows that interested me. Probably way more than 10.

As was one of the 70s versions of "Pyramid."
I know this is an old post, but actually Pyramid in the '70's actually aired on CBS, ABC, or in first run syndication.
