View Full Version : can someone really name 10 Tv shows from NBC during the 70's they enjoy watching? TVFactFan 07-18-2005, 04:37 PM It's impossible to name 10 because this decade was horrible for NBC, i can only name 3 Sanford and Son Chico and the Man CPO Sharkey Mr. Television 07-18-2005, 04:53 PM Sanford And Son Chico And The Man Rockford Files Police Woman The NBC Mystery Movie Life And Times Of Grizzly Addams Little House On The Praire Emergency CPO Sharkey Adam-12 Only 3 sitcoms and it was getting harder to find shows as the list went on. Chico and the Man Rockford Files Police Woman Emergency..Sounds pretty awesome to me ;) Mr. Television 07-18-2005, 05:11 PM Chico and the Man Rockford Files Police Woman Emergency..Sounds pretty awesome to me ;) Absolutely. If TV Land would only put them on I'd be very happy. :) Dean Winchester 07-18-2005, 05:20 PM surprised nobody mentioned Diff'rent Strokes. Granted the show was more 80's, but it was the sitcom hit NBC needed in the late 70's. Mr. Television 07-18-2005, 05:23 PM surprised nobody mentioned Diff'rent Strokes. Granted the show was more 80's, but it was the sitcom hit NBC needed in the late 70's. You're right. I should have added that one too although it lasted more in the 80's than the 70's. JT 07-18-2005, 07:36 PM I'll count all shows that aired on NBC sometime between 1/1/70 and 12/31/79... "Little House on the Prairie" "CHiPs" "The Rockford Files" "Emergency!" "Sanford and Son" "Diff'rent Strokes" "The Facts of Life" Couldn't do it... vashti1999 07-18-2005, 07:42 PM Prime time wasn't specified, so I guess we can include the Tonight Show, Saturday Night Live, Midnight Special... Mr. Television 07-18-2005, 08:09 PM Chips was another show I liked. Brian Damage 07-18-2005, 08:15 PM Chips was another show liked. I looooved that show as a kid. I remember it was the last show I was allowed to watch before going to bed on Sunday nights. Mr. Television 07-18-2005, 08:32 PM I looooved that show as a kid. I remember it was the last show I was allowed to watch before going to bed on Sunday nights. I used to watch it when it was on Saturdays ( which was before it moved to Sundays). It was teamed with BJ And The Bear and I never missed NBC on Saturday night when they aired. Unfortunately they only aired together for a little over a year. Living In a '70's Dream 07-18-2005, 08:34 PM Chips was another show I liked. Add CHiPs to my list as well.. :) JT 07-18-2005, 08:50 PM Prime time wasn't specified, so I guess we can include the Tonight Show, Saturday Night Live, Midnight Special... Then I'd also like to add Days of our Lives, Another World, and The Doctors to my list. Dean Winchester 07-18-2005, 09:03 PM I saw a Buck Rogers episode on Sci-Fi the other night and kinda liked it. Not to the extent to spend $80 on the DVD, but that was an NBC show from the 70's, right? vashti1999 07-19-2005, 11:37 AM I saw a Buck Rogers episode on Sci-Fi the other night and kinda liked it. Not to the extent to spend $80 on the DVD, but that was an NBC show from the 70's, right? Just barely. It premiered September 1979. Ten NBC prime time shows (comedy, drama and variety) that aired during the 70's I enjoy: Flip Wilson Show Sanford & Son Chico & The Man Van Dyke & Company Richard Pryor Show CPO Sharkey Real People Supertrain Diff'rent Strokes Facts of Life Solomon's right about it being a bad decade for NBC: CPO Sharkey lasted less than two years, VAn Dyke & Company and Supertrain were on just a few months and the Richard Pryor Show was only 4 episodes. I'd have to see it again before I can say I'd want the dvd. Dean Winchester 07-19-2005, 04:12 PM Just barely. It premiered September 1979. wow, you're right. For some reason, I was figuring the show was around 77-79, not 79-81. Wheel of Fortune Too bad there weren't many sitcoms to list for me in this decade. In the daytime however, NBC had plenty of shows that interested me. Probably way more than 10. As was one of the 70s versions of "Pyramid." I know this is an old post, but actually Pyramid in the '70's actually aired on CBS, ABC, or in first run syndication. |
