View Full Version : Jill, Judy and Donnie Hansen
SP4CE INV4DERZ 07-18-2005, 09:47 AM Here's a recent case that doesn't get any discussion here; For those that might not know, Jill and Judy Hansen were the twin girls who died in a house fire but not via smoke or fire related but by a shotgun. Their half brother Donnie owned the shotgun and tryed to hide it before it was even discovered the girls had in fact died by the shotgun and not by the house fire. I think this case happened in November 1986 but it's a lifetime story. Does anyone have or know an update for this case? For me, Donnie Hansen looks guilty as hell!
Kemistry 07-18-2005, 10:01 AM I actually think the other twins name was Julie not Judy but I can't really remember.
I remember this case, One of the twins, Julie I believe was shot and perished in the fire but Jill was found across the street lying in the grass and Donnie claimed to have been the one to pull her out of the burning house. Although she had a gaping wound in her stomach from being shot point blank she was taken the hospital and was stabilized but she died from a freak medical accident not long after when an air bubble from an intravenous tube got into her blood stream and stopped her heart. Before she died she did claim to have seen Donnie's face in the gun blast. I know the Hansen's now believe Donnie was the one who pulled the trigger although he denies it, I think there was a trial and he was found innocent but I have no doubt that he was the one who killed them.
Composite Sketch 07-18-2005, 02:25 PM Yeah, the twins were named Jill and Julie. That case gets to me.

crystaldawn 07-18-2005, 02:40 PM Well I'm not sure about that but I did talk to someone on here a few years ago under the username "demented pyro spiders". He wanted a copy of the episode and said he was dating Donnie's cousin and told me a few details of the case. Mainly about Donnie now and what he changed his name to and that the parents still believe he is reponsible for their deaths. Not sure if thats what you were referring to or not.
Oh, this case is really tragic and irritating to me!
I definitely think Donnie had something to do with it.
UMfan0682 07-18-2005, 05:10 PM If Donnie is innocent he sure demonstrated some odd behavior during the murders. Being caught going after his gun made him look guilty. After a murder was committed, I would not go back to the crime scene for my gun. Didn’t one of the sisters hear Donnie in another room having an argument? I also remember gas cans found around the house. Were they found before the murder? I can't recall.

One of the family members noticed a gas can during the commotion of the fire. So my guess is that this was before it was known that one of the twins was dead.
As for Donnie Hansen himself, I really think he is guilty. But I don't believe he acted alone. This might explain why he was heard yelling at someone, telling that someone to get out. In addition, some neighbors reported seeing two unidentified people running from the area.
It was very suspicious of Donnie to hide the shotgun before anyone was even aware that there was a homicide. It makes no sense if he was innocent. Unless, of course, he's covering for someone.

While she was in the hospital, she mentioned his name. It was really very sad. I think he wanted to kill al of them for the life insurance, but only 3 got out besides and sadly the other girl died after I think 17 days. I also feel he had help in this. Sick people!

What I also find amazing is; that's the first thing you are taught to do, flick this damn needle to get the air out. Kindergarton stuff that is.
wonderfalls 12-30-2009, 08:26 PM Did the family have life insurance policies? They didn't mention any possible motive in the segment, but I believe that one of the newspaper articles that they flashed mentioned insurance.
I can't BELIEVE the jury acquitted him. So what if there were two other people there that night - they were in it with him.

I know! His story was complete crap. He "slept through" a 12 gauge shotgun going off in the same room as him? Bull. Unless one is deaf, one is not sleeping through gunfire. I've tried. :D And no other part of his story that I remember made any sense.
