u know what, i have found that if i use 4 X or 8 X or even 16 X, it is never really twice as fast, for instance if it takes me 15 minutes at a 4 x disc, it never takes 7 1/2 with 8 x, so i dont know, the hiigher x is a bit faster, but not as fast as it says

So let me get this straight, I have a VHS tape that is 4 hours long, if I use 8x how long would it take to record? I am currently using 4x and it is taking all four hours to record.

A recorder records in real time. A burner can high speed copy.
