recently, I found myself watching a show I never thought I'd like. (That's So Raven) so it made me wonder, what other shows do people secretly like but wouldn't boast to their friends about? lol

View Full Version : Shows you're embarassed to admit you like Dean Winchester 07-17-2005, 03:56 PM recently, I found myself watching a show I never thought I'd like. (That's So Raven) so it made me wonder, what other shows do people secretly like but wouldn't boast to their friends about? lol Tuesday Weld 07-17-2005, 03:58 PM Well, this is a reality show, but I like "Dog The Bounty Hunter". I don't think I'm in the majority, but that's ok. Central Perk 07-17-2005, 03:59 PM Days of Our Lives. It can be so over the top and campy and the acting isn't even that great, but like a moth to a flame I can't look away. Southern Hellraiser 07-17-2005, 04:16 PM Full House barwars 07-17-2005, 07:41 PM Full House seems to top the list, every way you look at it. Although some people my age seem to like the show, I just can't imagine why. ....and I like it too. It just doesn't make any sense. Most definitely a guilty pleasure. troopoleon8897 07-17-2005, 07:44 PM I am Addicted to Stupid Reality Shows And Im Embarrassed to like. I Like Growing Up Gotti, My Big Fat Obnoxious Boss, The Next Food Network Star, And The Next One Im Really Ashamed Of Because Im A Guy And That Is Kept Cause I Find It Funny ... barwars 07-17-2005, 08:25 PM Full House seems to top the list, every way you look at it. Although some people my age seem to like the show, I just can't imagine why. ....and I like it too. It just doesn't make any sense. Most definitely a guilty pleasure. Although Full House is probably the only series I'd be ashamed to say I watched.... theres a lot of shows I own on DVD that I wouldn't exactly parade around and say I own. Brian Damage 07-17-2005, 08:27 PM Drake and Josh L&OFan4Eva 07-17-2005, 08:42 PM This is so embarrassing....Zoey 101. Even though it's the worst thing to happen to civilization since Sabrina the Teenage Witch, I can't stop watching. Mikado 07-17-2005, 08:43 PM Powerpuff Girls ( I know, shoot me now!!!! ) bad_boy 07-18-2005, 01:19 AM Arthur dawsongirl 07-18-2005, 02:42 AM Powerpuff Girls ( I know, shoot me now!!!! ) I  PPG!! Mikado 07-18-2005, 04:04 AM I  PPG!! Thats fine for you, but, you arent a 43 year old man, are you? :p Magnum 07-18-2005, 04:09 AM Dawsons Creek. 10 years ago, when it was on TV, if I saw someone watching it I would make fun of them. Last summer I watched it every day, both 2 episodes each day. Of course, I tell everyone it is because of Katie Holems, but it is damn good writing I like. At least the first year is excellent. Heather987 07-19-2005, 04:51 PM I am ashamed of this cause I made so much fun of people back in the day for watching this but, recently I have found myself addicted to 90210. I know its not a sitcom but it is still embarresing. As for sitcoms, Full House (dont really know if I like it but I still watch it cause it aggrivates the hell out of me and I have to criticize it) If it ever came back on any channel I have I would watch ALF dawsongirl 07-19-2005, 09:30 PM Thats fine for you, but, you arent a 43 year old man, are you? :p  No, 25 year old woman. That's only slightly better. EmoJoe 07-19-2005, 11:03 PM Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide :p GeorgiaboyJeff! 07-19-2005, 11:39 PM I'm mainly embarrassed to say I watch soap operas.. Alot of people in my area make fun of males who do.. But I like watching Young & The Restless & As The World Turns. Mikado 07-20-2005, 01:12 AM  No, 25 year old woman. That's only slightly better. Just slightly :p  HuntingtonM15 07-20-2005, 01:30 AM I'm mainly embarrassed to say I watch soap operas.. Alot of people in my area make fun of males who do.. But I like watching Young & The Restless & As The World Turns. Nothing wrong with that! Brieannas21 07-20-2005, 02:02 AM I really hate to admit it but the other day I was flipping through the channels and I found myself watching Zoom. Sean Snow 07-20-2005, 12:41 PM Days of Our Lives. It can be so over the top and campy and the acting isn't even that great, but like a moth to a flame I can't look away. Major ditto. I don't really hide the fact that I watch reruns of Dark Shadows and Ryan's Hope, but Days of Our Lives...eek. Most of the time the plots are bad and the characters are beyond annoying (John, Marlena, Bo, Hope, Belle, Shawn-D...if I keep this list going I'll probably end up naming everyone on the show), but I still end up watching episodes of it on SOAPnet. *sigh* Rachel3118 07-20-2005, 12:51 PM Some shows I would include are As The World Turns, Guiding Light, and Full House. GeorgiaboyJeff! 07-20-2005, 03:56 PM Cool another As The World Turns fan.. Rachel you should join www.soapoperacentral.com & be a regular at the As the world turns board. tvfan 2 07-20-2005, 04:28 PM The Incredible Hulk LaughingMan008 07-20-2005, 05:27 PM LazyTown on Nick Jr. And anything Winnie the Pooh related on Disney Channel. KristinHerreraFan 09-28-2005, 10:31 PM Zoey 101. Lots of people hate this show, but I LOVE it! sara 09-28-2005, 11:04 PM Well, this is a reality show, but I like "Dog The Bounty Hunter". I don't think I'm in the majority, but that's ok. I like it too. :) Nighthawk76 09-29-2005, 12:41 AM When I was in high school I used to watch Saved By The Bell! Storywriter 09-29-2005, 01:03 AM The Suite Life of Zack, and Cody I really like the show and think its a cute show but I never really say because somebody may have a snickering comment on the Internet for me because I'm going to be 27 and like this show.Because they have nothing better to do than make snickering comments. You know what I'm saying. But we should be allowed to like whatever we want with out uncalled for comments made at us for liking something/somebody. TV DVD Fan 09-29-2005, 03:45 PM I always get blushed when I tell people I own ALF- Season One. It's a good show, and funny, so why am I ashamed of it....? TV DVD Fan 09-29-2005, 03:47 PM ........ Hmm, lets see, maybe it's because it's a show about an extra-terrestial being taken in by a somewhat off the wall family and providing it with room and board? The alien is 400 years old, and has a nose that looks worse than Michael Jackson's? He is from a non-existant planet? Willy gets into rather stupid arguements with the alien? Nah, that's not it... dawsongirl 09-29-2005, 06:20 PM Sabrina the Teenage Witch  I love that show. Not exactly geared toward people my age...but oh well. It can be more sophisticated than it looks. Johnny S 09-30-2005, 05:57 PM Lets see... Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Full House, Sabrina The Teenage Witch, Lizzie McQuire, The Simple Life, Newleyweds: Nick & Jessica, Sex And The City, Boy Meets World, Step By Step & Charmed. Yep thats a pretty long list. troopoleon8897 09-30-2005, 10:12 PM after watching it the all of this past week I have to admit that I am 15 years old and I watch Aurther... TheHappyBurgerMeister 09-30-2005, 11:51 PM The Suite Life of Zack, and Cody I really like the show and think its a cute show but I never really say because somebody may have a snickering comment on the Internet for me because I'm going to be 27 and like this show.Because they have nothing better to do than make snickering comments. You know what I'm saying. But we should be allowed to like whatever we want with out uncalled for comments made at us for liking something/somebody. I was about to say the same thing! Well, I'm almost 22. I've watched a few episodes and I liked it. I think the plot/premise of the show is good. Actually I watch a lot of Disney Channel shows! cpmaz 10-01-2005, 04:46 PM recently, I found myself watching a show I never thought I'd like. (That's So Raven) so it made me wonder, what other shows do people secretly like but wouldn't boast to their friends about? lol Wanted on TNT. It's like The Shield, only without the great writing, great acting and multi-faceted characters. Mrs. Ducky 10-01-2005, 07:55 PM The Waltons. I'm not ashamed of it but everytime I tell someone I watch it, they're like, "Ha ha! YOU watch The Waltons?! Ha ha ha! I hate that show! It sucks!" And then I rant on and on about how awesome that show is. Dean Winchester 10-01-2005, 08:21 PM Lets see... Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Full House, Sabrina The Teenage Witch, Lizzie McQuire, The Simple Life, Newleyweds: Nick & Jessica, Sex And The City, Boy Meets World, Step By Step & Charmed. Yep thats a pretty long list. actually, Sex And The City is an Emmy-winning show, it's won Best Comedy, Best Actress and Supporting Actress, it hardly qualfies as a guilty pleasure. Buffy is another show not to be ashamed of. The people who hate the show and consider it something to be ashamed of liking usually have never seen the show and judge it because of the movie. I do remember a lot of people fussing when TV Guide put it in the list of the 50 greatest TV shows ever (where it rightfully belonged) and the people who balked at it mostly where people who have never even SEEN the show and decided it was crap because they didn't like the Luke Perry movie. Buffy was only behind Trek and X-Files last year when TV Guide ranked the top 25 cult tv shows, so that's another show you shouldn't consider a guilty pleasure. Dean Winchester 10-01-2005, 09:15 PM It depends on who you are. I mean, for any adult, male or female, liking S&TC is perfectly normal. But for a 13 year old kid (I believe thats how old he said he was).... it's not exactly something you'll find everybody at school talking about. And, maybe it's just me, and it's probably because I'm not really a fan.... but I'd be slightly embarassed to be a Treky or X-Files fanatic. Trek definately because of all the "geeky stuff", but X-Files was genuinely a cool show vashti1999 10-01-2005, 09:53 PM It depends on who you are. I mean, for any adult, male or female, liking S&TC is perfectly normal. But for a 13 year old kid (I believe thats how old he said he was).... it's not exactly something you'll find everybody at school talking about. Then again, if I were 13 and a Sex and The City fan, I'd probably wouldn't be embarassed to admit it just because I'd feel as if I'm giving off a mature vibe because I like such an adult show. Rene 10-01-2005, 09:54 PM phil of the future and the suite life of zack and cody Nighthawk76 10-03-2005, 08:14 PM Trek definately because of all the "geeky stuff", but X-Files was genuinely a cool show This is a very stereotypical view of Star Trek fans. I'm a huge fan of the Star Trek shows, but I don't fit any of the typical geeky stereotypes. Nighthawk76 10-03-2005, 10:26 PM And, maybe it's just me, and it's probably because I'm not really a fan.... but I'd be slightly embarassed to be a Treky or X-Files fanatic. Why? ErikMartin 10-04-2005, 01:46 PM Saw my younger sister watching this one day, sad to say I'm a fan of "the Fairly Odd Parents." Johnny S 10-04-2005, 07:35 PM But for a 13 year old kid (I believe thats how old he said he was).... it's not exactly something you'll find everybody at school talking about. Exactly. Being 14 yr old guy it really isint the most popular show. I am not truely "embarrased" to watch any of the shows on my list. (even though I don't regularly watch all of them) If I like a show, I am going to watch it and I don't really care what anybody else thinks. I'm just saying that my friends make fun of me for liking shows like Buffy, Sex And The City, Full House ect. But what do they know? They could't realize brilliant television if it smacked them in the face. (I am not saying that all of the shows I listed are brilliant. Actually shows like Full House, Sabrina & Lizzie are pretty crappy, but what can I say? I Like em.) |
