Can someone acutally go to a place like Blockbuster and rent a TV Show on DVD when it's released? If yes, how can any money be made? Now are people able to do this with OLDER Releases on DVD like a season of a TV show that was released in 2002? Or can I go rent a TV Show on DVD at Blockbuster today that was just released in June?

I've seen CSI DVDs at Blockbuster before. I don't think it would harm sales because I think that the studios can make money off of DVD rentals. I'm not sure, though.

I have one word for you...Netflix.

I rent all my DVDs through them and it is well worth the monthly fee of $20.

They get nearly every DVD released and I have rented TV show DVDs through them.

No late fees and the quicker you get the DVDs back to them, the more you can rent.

And no, I do not work for Netflix. :D

I like Netflix also... You can for sure rent TV DVDs the day the come out from there. Im not sure about a video store, I haven't been in one since about 1998.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think they have to have a licensing fee too. Kinda like a radio station does. Can anyone confirm this?

Netflix is the only place, even online you are going to find old tv series. Yes you can rent a tv series the same day it is released.

The only series that I`ve fould they won`t get are.

Star Trek. TOS season sets
That`s My Mama
Spenser the movie collection

Blockbuster has a very small selection it seems

There's a local video store just across the street from me, and they have quite a collection of TV-DVD's. It's not just HBO titles but a lot of good stuff. I can't name them off the top of my head, though... But let's see. I've seen:

- Cheers
- Fraiser
- Alias
- Scrubs
- CSI
- Sex and the City
- Soparanos
- The Munsters
- West Wing
- Gilmore Girls
- The Simpsons

They don't have a massive collection...but they do have one heck of a selection there and even have their own TV-DVD section in the store. :)

I would be intreasted in getting dvd's but I don't think I'd want that many at a time.

At blockbusters I haven't seen that many.

I get a lot of TV on DVD from my public library as amazing it may seem. If your library is hooked up with a library inter-loan service you can get all kinds of stuff!

I've been getting all of the Dark Shadows releases. I've also had older things like I Married Joan, A Date with the Angels, and sets that have all kinds of various programs from the 40's and 50's.

Right now I'm waiting for Dark Shadows Set 17, Kojak Season 1, The Waltons Season 2, and Wonder Woman Season 3. Best of it is FREE!!!!

I'm not paying Blockbuster PER disc! Do they charge double for a movie on two tapes or discs? No. So, why should they charge per disc in a TV DVD set? To me it is all ONE title. Blockbuster is a big corporate scam anyway.
