I've heard so many people say "if Paris Hilton was my daughter, I'd be ashamed of her and tell her so". So it makes me wonder. How would everyone in here react if their daughter was just like Paris Hilton. Selling a slutty image and low morals and laughing her way to tabloids everywhere.

It's almost kinda sad to see her mother looking at her with pride when you consider there are parents who are ashamed of their children for far lesser things than Paris. Apparently Paris isn't the most liked person when you consider that the biggest applauses House Of Wax got was the scene where she was killed.

honestly, she hasn't done anything terribly wrong. she didn't want the sex tapes to be released and tried to stop the circulation of them. and as for the belief that young girls are dressing slutty because of her, it's not her job to babysit. it's up to the girls' parents to regulate what they wear and it's not paris's fault if they don't. she's not an actress for children's shows. she can wear what she wants.

i wouldn't like the idea of her being so spoiled in the media (being an actress and singer and whatever the hell else just because she's popular) but i wouldn't reprimand her over it.

As a parent, I wouldn't be happy about some of the things she has done. However, she hasn't broken the law and has made a career for herself. You have to look at the bright side of everything as a parent.

I think she's disliked because people don't like having anyone just shoved down their throat for no reason. Granted, when there's a new movie, tv or music star out, that makes sense. But the media became fascinated by Paris Hilton for doing nothing that suddenly she was this superstar, yet she had no resume to back it up (as much as Tom Cruise annoys people, he has the filmography to "excuse" his behavior).

Plus, while Paris has money most of us could dream of, she has absolutely no dignity. Ok, she's 24 and 24 year olds have sex. But her career's been BASED around sex and nothing more. Does Paris not remember the fallout Madonna had in the early 90's because people felt she took the sex act too far? It took Madonna years to redeem herself to critics, but even then, Madonna was a singer, actress (ok, I use that very loosely) and people are actually interested in her by choice.

If Paris wants to have sex, good for her, a lot of people do. But Paris' popularity is because "look at what a whore I am" instead of anything else. She did one movie, but it's not like she's exactly a well-respected actress. She recorded a song, but it didn't even chart so she's not quite a "diva". She has millions of dollars, people expect her to act a bit classier than she does. Imagine if Prince William decided to start making porn films and decides to become a hustler. That is comparable to Paris Hilton. Paris, like Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston (anyone seen their show?) are prime examples that you can have all the money your heart desires and still not have any class.

The reason a lot of people dislike Paris is because she isn't worthy of the fame she has. You know something is up when they even played up the "See Paris Die!!" angle while promoting House Of Wax, and Paris' death in the movie got by far the loudest applause, even more than the ending or anything else.

Paris is NO role model. Just because she has money doesn't mean she has class (has anyone seen "Being Bobby Brown" anyone? Unlike Paris, Bobby and Whitney earned their fame and money, and yet they are still two of the trashiest people I've ever seen on television).
