View Full Version : Waiter gets the girl at Applebee's
Miss Golden 07-16-2005, 03:54 AM I was at an Applebee's last night with some of my scouts and noticed this kind of geeky guy with this girl who was kind of geeky, but kinda hot too if she took her glasses off and had a makeover. Anyway there waiter was a total jerk to the guy and kept spilling the drinks all over him and flirted with his girlfriend all night. The dating couple looked about 17 or 18. Anyhow, I kept watching them and I could tell the girl was falling for the waiter, he then even went so far to bring her out a free dessert and started feeding it to her, and she was just head over heels for the waiter. The boyfriend just looked crushed, his face was beet red and he was sweating, he finally started out and told his girlfriend, let's leave, but the waiter shoved him down and carried the girl out to his car and left with her in it. I was cracking up that the waiter has probably lost his job all because he felt so powerful that he stole some poor guy's girlfriend, but at the same time felt sorry for the guy whom was literally covered in Iced Tea and was laid out on the floor of Applebee's.
MsOrange 07-16-2005, 07:25 AM are you serious? what kind of manager lets their employees carry on with this kind of behavior. the geek is better off; if the bitch was willing to leave him for a buck-an-hour applebee's waitor, then so be it.
ABlairican Pie 07-16-2005, 08:32 AM The waiter is disgusting. Should be fired, the dirtbag. The young guy should have gone up and complained to the manager.
robyrob 07-16-2005, 09:28 AM well, there shall be NO tip for that guy :snob:
*MIBabe03* 07-16-2005, 10:07 AM That waiter sounds like a *****.
Miss Golden 07-16-2005, 12:12 PM I assume if you walk away during the middle of a job especially at a restaurant, that would be automatic termination. Obviously the punk waiter thought he was so cool by stealing away some poor guy's girlfriend that the job did not matter. But isn't dumping ice tea on someone and of course shoving them "assualt" and grounds for arrest. The poor guy looked very bashful and just simply left the Applebee's by himself, however I do not think he paid for the meal. The other staff at the restaurant barely noticed because being a weekend the place was packed.
Brian Damage 07-16-2005, 12:15 PM This sounds so far fetched. I'm not saying it didn't happen, but to me, it sounds so unrealistic.
Miss Golden 07-16-2005, 12:23 PM It happened, there were a bunch of drunks pulling out camera phones that were laughing there ass off at the dorky guy, there were also some sympathetic people trying to help him too, but he looked like he just wanted to cry and leave. I do not think he paid for the meal, and why should he??? He really should file a lawsuit against the Applebee's for the way he was treated. After he left, they just cleaned up the table and the staff acted like it never happened, they were so busy, I don't think they realize that he did not pay for the meals.
What was funny was how the waiter picked up the girlfriend whom was kind of small and petite and simply carried her to his car which was real old like a 1984 Trans Am and put her in the passenger seat and left with her. Guess they were going back to his place...
Tuesday Weld 07-16-2005, 12:24 PM This sounds so far fetched. I'm not saying it didn't happen, but to me, it sounds so unrealistic.
 That's what I was thinking.
Brian Damage 07-16-2005, 12:30 PM  That's what I was thinking.
Seriously, I mean I'd hate to doubt Miss Golden, but stuff like that just doesn't happen in real life. Even the most dorkiest of guys has a male ego. Nobody would just sit there and get a drink poured on him without retaliation of some sort.
James"Thunder"Early 07-16-2005, 12:35 PM Is this for real? It seems to me that waiter would have gotten in serious trouble with the management.
Courtnee 07-16-2005, 01:02 PM What a jackass
Miss Golden 07-16-2005, 02:06 PM This guy was a real dork, and the waiter was kind of across between a redneck and a jock. Plus his girlfriend fell for the waiter after 5 minutes, so I guess the dork new it was a losing situation. The only incident that was truly physical was when the waiter pushed the dork down, but he ran out with the girlfriend before the dork could retailiate. The Waiter spilled like 3 Ice Tea's on him and kept blaming it on him being clumsy and the dork had class and just laughed it off.
Brian Damage 07-16-2005, 02:13 PM Sorry, but this sounds so made up.
James"Thunder"Early 07-16-2005, 02:51 PM Sorry, but this sounds so made up.It has to be, this stuff can't possibly be true.
TripperFan 07-16-2005, 04:12 PM This sounds like something out of a movie!! I'm not doubting you Miss Golden, but it WOULD make for a great scene in a teen comedy!
The dorky boyfriend will never forget that night - poor guy!
Well, I hope she lives happily ever after on his tips (all $75 a week).
And bets the wedding reception will be held at Chuck E. Cheeses and the former boyfriend will come back - REVENGE OF CHUCKY!!!
Miss Golden 07-16-2005, 05:46 PM Think about it, most waiters are just jocks anyway. The guy was probably some smart ass whom has watched Average Joe way too many times and thought he would play the role during his job. He must have been going to quit anyways.
Hollow 07-16-2005, 07:34 PM that's really sad.
Max Whittaker 07-16-2005, 07:34 PM He really should file a lawsuit against the Applebee's for the way he was treated ...
I don't think he will. He probably has low self-esteam, and that incident would be a hard blow for just about anyone to take. He'll likely just slip quietly away.
I hope he makes something of himself! Something big, and grand and rewarding. The waiter is a jerk and won't amount to much. If the girl friend can let herself be seduced by such a fake, then I doubt she's going anywhere, herself!
robyrob 07-16-2005, 07:39 PM ...i wonder what she ordered???

Thank you!!! It just seems so far fetched. It sounds like something out of a teen movie. I think that you, me and Leland McKenzie are the only ones who don't buy this.

I agree, the only time I saw this happen was in a "Popeye" cartoon. That waiter better be glad the dork didn't order a spinach salad! ;)
And where was the manager or assistant manager while this show was going on?? I mean you said people were taking pictures of this. The guy was a paying customer regardless, and the manager should have stepped in.
IMakeBurgers 07-17-2005, 12:46 AM Anything can happen..If I was that geek guy, I'd atleast try to be the waiter's ass. I can care less how big you are. I'd rather get my butt kicked, than be punked down.
*Pleasant Tomorrow* 07-17-2005, 12:47 AM I don't think he will. He probably has low self-esteam, and that incident would be a hard blow for just about anyone to take. He'll likely just slip quietly away.

Just because she doesn't believe the event occurred, it doesn't make her heartless.

I'm a realist. Either Miss Golden is pulling our collective legs or there's a HUGE exaggeration, at best, going on here.

Brian Damage 07-17-2005, 05:53 PM I agree with every naysayer on here! THIS STUFF AIN'T REAL!!!!!!
The story has waaaaaaaay too many flaws and holes in it.
1. The place was crowded, according to miss Golden, people were actually taking pictures of the incident. You're telling me, there was not one good bystander that stepped in or even go to a manager?
2. Speaking of managers, where were they when all this was going down?
3. The waiter swept the girl off her feet and carried her to his car (which just so happens to be parked right outside where Miss Golden can accurately identify it.) Who sweeps people off their feet?!? Even if this girl was attracted to this guy, doesn't anybody find it weird that she would just allow herself to be picked up by a total stranger?
4. The "Dorky" guy did absolutely nothing. Even if the waiter outweighed this guy by 100 pounds, there is such a thing as a male ego. He did not have one drink spilled on him, but 3!!! He had his girlfriend manhandled by a waiter and everybody was laughing at him. You expect me to believe he did nothing but sulk? BS!

1. The place was crowded, according to miss Golden, people were actually taking pictures of the incident. You're telling me, there was not one good bystander that stepped in or even go to a manager? it was All-you-can-eat Falaffel night- everyone's mouth's were full.
2. Speaking of managers, where were they when all this was going down? busy trying to pick up chicks at other tables and making "protection payments" to mafioso types (the A-Team hadn't made it there yet)
3. The waiter swept the girl off her feet and carried her to his car (which just so happens to be parked right outside where Miss Golden can accurately identify it.) Who sweeps people off their feet?!? Even if this girl was attracted to this guy, doesn't anybody find it weird that she would just allow herself to be picked up by a total stranger?they were both REALLY big fans of "An Officer and a Gentleman" - just another reason that they were MEANT to be together (also a common affinity for picking on geeks in restaurants)

BS! he was used to getting sand kicked in his face, besides he's a lover, not a fighter - but do not fear, he is busy plotting his revenge RIGHT NOW (well, as soon as he receives his workout video from Charles Atlas)

I'm not making fun of her, the story sounds too ridiculous to believe.

Don't believe this for a second.
Otherwise, who is with me to form a posse to kick Applebee waiter butt???!!!
VIVA LA GEEK!!!!
MsOrange 07-18-2005, 03:09 PM where is Miss Golden to defend her story anyway?
dlemond 07-18-2005, 03:24 PM Nice question.
Well, since she saw it I'm sure she can find out the name of the waiter and the manager and tell us the location.
I see this happening really not soon.

well, I for one still have faith in this story, and I will try to perform an independent verification by going to Applebee's and flirting with the waiter's to see if they'll spill drinks on me then sweep me off my feet.
