What is it?

Well, that's kind of tough because there really aren't any. But I'd have to say it's from "Mary Richards Falls In Love" at the very end. Her boyfriend is saying something about how there's not a way to celebrate saying I love you and Mary says "Wanna bet?" Yes, it was funny but I didn't expect it from Mary.

Oh my god! I felt the same way. I didn't expect that from sweet old Mary. Maybe she was drunk or something, because that's not like Mary.

Why is it so shocking?? There was evidence throughout the series that Mary Richards did have a sex life. In about the 3rd or 4th season, her parents visit, and she has her father over for dinner for some bonding. On her way out the door, Mrs. Richards says, "Don't forget to take your pill" to her husband. Mary, thinking her mom means HER, respons, "I won't!" Granted she could have been referring to any kind of "pill" but it's generally interpreted to mean THE pill.

I know Mary was sexually active it's obvious but ( trying to get too into it) taking the pill doesn't actually mean you're sexually active.
