TVFactFan 07-14-2005, 01:13 PM Congrats. Now you have to deal with the other hard part. Getting used to a new work environment, and new co-workers. First day of a new job is nerve racking. It always good to get that first week out of the way.

It was going well until we were informed that we won;t get paid until the 29th of july-lol It was a mix up in payroll and i was supposed to get paid tomorrow but instead I will get 2 checks on 7/29/05. Far as the job, i'm going with the flow and will be completing my 2nd week. I also found out my job is moving to a new site in 2 weeks so that's when I will have my own office.

He's just pleased that he's one step closer to ruling the world.
I'll be happy when I get my first pay check. I'll be paid monday. After three weeks orientation, money flow will feel real good!
The first day I was real nervous! I didn't know I could be so nervous over such a thing. I knew I was cut out for it, and I knew I could do it. I even knew I'd have fun. But I didn't know precisely 100% what to expect.
I felt better once I got there. And I love most of the people I work with. Even the ones that took some warming up to have turned out to be truly wonderful human beings, in their own way.
You'll do wonderfully! Did your employer just pick you out of a crowded street, or what?

What kind of job are you working right now Max? That's great that you like most of the people that you're working with.

I'm with Americorps, Environmental Corps. We work outside building hiking trails and removing invasive species of plants. Everyday is different because we could be asked to do anything environmentally related. Yesterday we were pruning pecan trees.

MONDAY? That's kind of fast. Well I guess you should be thankful anyway. Did they ask you could u start monday?
TripperFan 07-15-2005, 09:11 AM Don't worry about places that want you to start fast - I applied when I was 22 to one place, got an interview a few days later (after telling me there wasn't anything open when I dropped off my resume), interviewed me at 9:30 that morning and I started the job at noon! Lasted there almost 19 years so it could be a great omen! :happyface

well he said when can you start and i thought seeing as though i aint doing nothing I might as well start asap
TVFactFan 07-15-2005, 10:30 AM well he said when can you start and i thought seeing as though i aint doing nothing I might as well start asap
Yeah I would have liked to have atleast a week off before I started my new job but i only had the Friday before the July 4th weekend and on the 5th I started
TripperFan 07-15-2005, 10:32 AM That's probably what got you the jobs guys! I had one recently that was going really well, and I was able to start immediately because they hadn't started interviewing until 6 weeks after the job fair. When I first applied, I said I'd need a week before starting - well because of the delay, that had changed, but it wasn't changed on the application, so I lost the job because they thought I wasn't available.
Always say you can start immediately!!
Janice 07-15-2005, 10:38 AM Congratulations Peter!!
peter may 07-15-2005, 10:48 AM well i have been pretty much just dossing around recently anyway so if i had another week off id probly go insane
