I still think one of the greatest tragedies in comedy was losing Ted Knight to cancer. He was one of the funniest men on TV. He was great in MTM and equally so in Too Close for Comfort. In the 80's he showed up at a local telethon here for a Children's Hospital. He had everyone in stitches.

Does anyone have details on his death? Did he battle this cancer to the end? Or was it a sudden onset and quick death?

I think that he knew that he wasn't going to make it with his cancer a few monthes before he died. I know that Gavin McLeod and his wife visited Ted in the hospital, and in an interview Gavin siad that he knew that Ted wasn't going to make it.
