Well, i think we can blame an entertainent industry that promotes "breaking the rules" and, most of all, many ( though certainly not all ) parents who just dont care about teaching morals to their children

I know how you feel. I rode my bike (a very expensive one that took me months to save up for) to the movies a few years ago and locked it in the bike rack outside. This was in the middle of the afternoon and when I came out of the theater my bike was gone and I ended up walking home. They had to have used some kind of wire cutters to get through the lock because the lock was supposed to be a good one. When I bought my current bike I also bought 2 locks to go with it and so far it's been safe. It ticks me off when people do stuff like that. GET A JOB AND SAVE YOUR OWN MONEY AND BUY YOUR OWN DAMN BIKE !!

I have a hard time believing it was right against my window. It was a Trek moutain bike 2 years old which I bought for $500.00.

I feel very sorry for you, alaskaboy.

I feel really badly for you alaska. What really sucks too is that the cops don't seem to do anything about stolen bikes anymore (even cars in some areas of big cities). Its because it happens so often from what I hear. Nice - so if murders happened too often does that mean they'd stop doing something about that too?

Just shows what a nice person you are when you just call the culprits "rude". I can think of plenty more harsh ones than that!

I hope somehow a mini miracle happens for you and it is recovered.

I got my bikes stolen three times. The first was at alibrary in Mayfield, Ohio in 1971, the second was in 1999 outside the library near my house, and the third time was in 2001 or '02 at the same library.

Sounds like you should either give up reading or buy your own books! ;)

Sheesh...why steal a bike when you can steal a car? Then you'll probably get caught faster. SUCKERS.

Stealing somebody's ride has always been an incredibly stupid thing to do.

I'm sorry that some idiot stole your bike. I don't understand why people have to steal and have no respect for other people's property either. Although I've never had anything as big as a big stolen, but about 10 years ago I had bought a nice pair of sandals and when I went on vacation someone stole them! :( I was at the beach and I took them off to go down to the beach. I left them up by the picnic tables by all our stuff. My mom and grandma were with me too and they took everything away to take to the beach or back in the car. Well, I still left my sandals by the picnic table. When I came back, from being on the beach, they were gone! First I asked my mom and grandma if they put the sandals somewhere, but they didn't. I was so upset I cried for almost the rest of the trip! I was only 11 then, but I really liked those sandals. I could understand why someone would take them though. They were just laying there at the picnic table with NOTHING else or no one around them, so if I were someone I'd assume that the person (which would be me) would have been long gone- but I wasn't!
