I knew about the Doobies growing up, so it was a treat seeing them on television. I used to dig a few of their cuts back then. I wasn't a fan like I was Parliament/Funkadelic, and Earth Wind and Fire, but they had their moments. LOL

As for the show, pretty funny until Rerun got caught. Why was the entire audience so quiet? You mean to tell me that EVERYONE saw Rerun drop the tape recorder. Even the ones in the back row. To be honest, the Doobies concert itself was pretty good. Not in the same league as Average White Band and Rare Earth though..

I liked the Doobies episodes, nerrad. They were funny. That went through my mind too. How in the hell the whole show is going to stop and the BACK audience because they saw Rerun, who's standing in the FRONT row, drop his tape recorder?! Why should the audience care?! That was phony! But what I didn't like about the episodes was the fact that they allowed smart-ass Dee to get in their face and talk smack to the grown up Doobies. She was a child for crying out loud!

P-Funk and Earth, Wind and Fire was and still is the sh*t. You got good taste.

That was a good episode the best part was when Raj had to tell Brother Bruno that he wasn't gonna get paid. Also when one of the Doobies said that he and Rerun had an English class together.

This was one of my favorite episodes. You got to see a great sitcom and concert all in one.

Awesome! Arguably the two greatest episodes (it was a two-parter) of the entire run.

I remember watching this episode in real time. The Doobies were at their peak popularity when they were on the show.
Illegal recordings of concerts was a big thing back in the 70s.
Little did everyone realize but in less than 40 years everyone would be recording concerts both audio and visual on their phones and uploading them to the web for everyone to see. And it's all legal.
When you watch an old concert from the 70s, 80s' or 90s, its so nice to see people actually watching the concert instead of watching the concert through their phone.

As the other poster has mentioned The Doobie Brothers were big time when this episode originally aired and music pirating was a serious issue. Rerun got caught up and used by a very nefarious character played by the late actor Teddy Wilson. But in the end everything turned out alright for Rerun as he turned the table on the guys making him illegally record The Doobie Brothers concert and got them both arrested.
