yeah i got really lucky and got an 8th row seat a week before the concert. some bum must have not paid for their ticket and it went back up for sale. she puts on an amazing show. she was constantly going from one side of the stage to the other. i kept going nuts every time she came over and I waved my glowstick around until she finally noticed me during my faaaaaaavorite song, where is your heart. *sigh* she's just amazing. enjoy the concert!!!

they told people to take their cameras and signs back to their cars (he came out a good hour before the concert) because they were taking them if they found them. however i saw kelly at a small theatre and this is probably a big arena so i imagine it is different. you should try calling the place.

sup ya'll. im Makayla (yes, the egyptian one) and michael (agentfallon) and i are friends now. just thought i would stop in and say that he wont come back for certain reasons he prefers me not to mention. but this is the perfect thread for me to share my opinions on Kelly Clarkson.

she used to have such an independent, unique style that could hardly be matched by anyone else, and she used her beautiful voice to its advantage. take Miss Independent for example. but on her last CD (breakaway) she is obviously dropping her style just to copy what she thinks is popular. she is turning into Avril. how many times in songs do you hear those "ohhhh oh oh" sounds Avril has made popular? Kelly is turning low class, trashy, and unrespectable. she recently sounds like she has asthma and she whispers a lot, which gives her the Amy Lee sound (which she doesn't pull off). other times she decides to show off her wide vocal range, but instead sounds like a drowning cat. what ever happened to the OLD Kelly? the one who stood out? what exactly has she been contributing lately? she is just becoming another wannabe punk, like Ashlee Simpson, and if she continues i doubt her career will continue. i miss the old Kelly.

as for you guys, you buy into this music and just take what you're given. why not find music that actually contributes and inhances your life? everyone who called Avril a poser and buys into Kelly's new style is a hypocrite. im ashamed but then again, there's no accounting for taste. i don't support wannabe punk chicks, but if you do, it is your choice.

But this isnt the end to her career, its beginning her career, Breakaway is much more sucessful then Thankful. And I think Breakaway is the "true" Kelly, some songs off of Breakaway are based on her life (Behind These Hazel Eyes is about her ex-boyfriend). A lot of people want her to go back to the pop, blues-y Kelly but I think if she stays where she is now, she will be much more sucsesful. Thankful was a good album, but Breakaway is much more deep. And Kelly isn't a "wannabe chick", maybe to you she is, but to me she isnt. And like I said, im not sure where you've been, but Kelly's career isn't over, it's just getting started. Kelly has had 3 ver sucessful singles (Breakaway, Since U Been Gone, Behind These Hazel Eyes), is frequently on the raido and TV, and is now on a very sucesfull tour. This doesnt sound like the end of a career to me. Even though you may like the "old" Kelly better, Kelly is doing much more sucesfull with the "new" Kelly. Kelly, IMO, isnt an Avril or Amy Lee wanabee, she's just...Kelly. Comparing Kelly to Ashlee Simpson is just...wrong. Kelly is anything BUT trashy. The only connection I see between Avril and Kelly is that Avril co-wrote the song Breakaway. In fact, that song was originally written for Avril, but Kelly recorded it instead. Maybe their sound is somewhat similar, and they sing about the same things, but I think that's where the similarities end. I'm not gonna say anything bad about Avril because I like her too. All I'll say about Kelly is that I don't think she's changed to please other people. I really think she's shedding layers and evolving as an artist.

And I never said that you cant state your optinion, but the place to do it would be the music board, not the Kelly Clarkson Appreciation thread. Your the one whose trying to say that everyone is going to agree with you about Kelly. You are welcome to have your own opinon, but saying that everyone will agree with you someday is basically shoving your opinion down other peoples' throats, which is bad. Just because you dont like her anymore doesnt mean that we will def. stop liking her. And actually: Kelly's career is heading down a good path, and im basing it on the charts. You are basing it on your personal opinion. Breakaway is double plantiuem and has been in the top 10 for a while. It was AOL's #1 "to buy list" for 2004 (or 2005, not sure which one) so how can you say her career is failing? Just because you dont like her doesnt mean she is a failure.

In response to the argument up there, I think Kelly is just versatile, and I think she really wanted to show everything she's been holding back in this "Breakaway" album. Sure, Avril is a great songwriter, but to me, her vocals are probably a 6/10, while Kelly's are a 10/10. I mean, if Avril went on Idol, she wouldn't have made the top 24. I think Kelly's music isn't "wannabe punk", she never said it was punk, it's just pop with a rock edge.

And Kelly's had a LOAD of success this year. "Breakaway", "SUBG", and "Behind These..." have all gone to the top 10 on billboard, the top 2 on American Top 40, TRL, etc.

The main reason the majority of Kelly's fanbase is "teenybopper" is because of American Idol. That's how most of the people on that show's fans are. It's a family oriented show and it's targeted to a young audience who are fans of pop music. If the AI people wanted a bunch of punk rockers to show up at Kelly concerts, they would've changed her image or something to appeal to a different group of people. If you're comparing Thankful and Breakaway, you can tell that Thankful is the more pop album of the two. Kelly had very little control over that cd, just like the other Idol people on their first albums. The cd was targeted toward the same majority of the people that watch American Idol so they would buy it. It's all in the way they market her. The second cd was more Kelly's style because she had more input in what went on. Yes, Avril wrote a song on there, but Kelly wrote songs on there too. That doesnt make one better than the other.

And it's not fair to categorize all of Kelly's fans as "teenyboppers" either. I, for one, don't really even like that kind of music, but I like Kelly.

I like it too, but I dont think it could be as popular as like...SUBG or BOY. It could be a sucessful single, but not HUGE.

So its not really THAT happy. Walk Away is just sorta funny, lol. Its a good song- my mom loved it the first time she heard it, I really do think it will do well.

I've been thinking, and I think "Walk Away" would be a great last-single from "Breakaway". It's hard to explain why, but it's a good way to end off the Breakaway-era. I think there needs to be one more song after BOY and before Walk Away.

Walk Away is happy and upbeat though, and im really glad its the next single. I hope that Kelly releases one more single after this, "Hear Me".

Yeah, BTHE and BOY are two of the best songs on her album, IMO, but like you and David (Superstar) said, Gone (forget about the fact that the song is about a breakup) and Walk Away are upbeat songs and would make upbeat videos. Therefore, if one of those songs was released as the next single, it would balance out the serious subject matter from the last two singles. :)
