Starring John Amos and JoMarie Payton-Prince as Joe and Claire Anderson, who have been happily married for 30 years now. Even though, they seem to be always bickering, it's their way of showing their love for each other. Joe is a hardworking, stubborn, and somewhat grouchy husband and father, as Claire is a loving and caring yet fiesty wife and mother. Joe and Claire own their own business-a barber shop/beauty salon called "Barber Beauty". "Barber Beauty" is a half-barber shop and half-beauty salon combined into one building. Joe and Claire have three loving yet dependent children-Kevin Anderson, 28 (Kevin Hart), Sarah Anderson, 25 (Keisha Knight-Pulliam), and Charisse Anderson, 20 (Raven-Symone). Kevin is a college graduate who wants to become a high-powered attorney (despite his father's wishes). Sarah is a college student who has no idea what to major in. Charisse is a college freshman who wants to actress/singer someday.Sarah and Charisse work part-time at the barbershop/beauty salon (mostly at the salon part). Monique Sheridan (Melissa McCarthy) is the cheery and quirky receptionist at "Barber Beauty"-who happens to be more like a friend to Claire and the girls.
