It's funny, when I was little ( I was about 5 when this show played the first time ), Barb Eden just seemed to me to be the most beautiful woman in the world...looking at her now, in reruns, she's still cute, but not as drop-dead gorgeous as I remembered. Possibly it's the outdated hair , or the "new" bodies that are in fashion today, but , for some reason, to me, shes not as hot as she used to be...What do YOU think?? :confused:

72nd birthday. And while she's still attractive, time has crept up on her. This is why Sony/Columbia wants somebody like Jessica Alba to "be" Jeannie...to me, there's only ONE "JEANNIE"!!!

I think "Mikado" is saying that Barbara Eden looks different in the reruns (not in

...notice the picture above. That one was taken during the second season (1966-'67), when Barbara Eden's make-up had to be altered for color filming after the first season. Her face looked a lot different, as did her costume.
In fact, by the third season, she began to look even MORE different [how DID she become more 'full-figured' then? ;)], and HER make-up and hair style changed even MORE in the final season (1969-'70). I assume that's what you're wondering...??

( In my case, she doesnt...but, my version of "beauty" was probably much different when i was 5 or 6 )

Costume or not, I think Barbara Eden was gorgeous during her IDOJ days and beyond. Her face and figure were very sexy. You could put her in a potato sack, and she was still beautiful. It's hard to hide that kind of stunning beauty.

Jeannie was hot all the way through the show.

Barbara as Jeannie will always be beautiful to me. When I watch her on "I Dream of Jeannie" she just seems to get prettier everytime I watch and it is the same episodes over and over. LOL. ;)
What amazes me about Barbara is that even though she is in her 70's she still looks good. She has taken good care of herself over the years and it shows! She is still very active and healthy and is still working! She is amazing. Keep it up Barbara. We love you...then and now! :D

As TV Knowledge Fan mentioned, I wonder how BACK THEN (though I know they had plastic surgery, etc. but????) how did Jeannie seem so much more of a "fuller figured gal" in season 4 and on than from seasons 1-3???? Was it a push up bra? Just curious:)

Also, I must comment. Personally I think Barbara on Jeannie is MORE beautiful than most contemporary stars. She along with stars of the day such as Elizabeth Montgomery, etc. Yes, they were both blondes but they had a unique look as well as personality. Now it seems you can hardly pick out one actress from another. Everything seems so cookie cutter and women have to be emaciated. Personally, I think people like Barbara Eden, Elizabeth Montgomery, etc. are classic beauties. For the record, Liz was still beautiful up until her untimely passing and Barbara is obviously magic to remain as beautiful as she is today!! :)

Could you be comparing the old IDOJ video, to the new, crisp HDTV-like stuff being aired these days ? In comparison, the new video might make the IDOJ video look less nice. Like playing a cassette and a cd, or even an old cd and a newly released cd.

I dont think the quality of the video comes into it, I think its just a case of the fact that I have a different "standard" of beauty now, than I did back then; for instance, i now prefer women with smaller chests over larger ones, for instance. (As just one example)

She always reminded me of the Barbie dolls I had as a child.
