View Full Version : Our world with no money.....
G-Force Glockstar 07-09-2005, 06:06 PM I don't know how some people do it, pay for a house which is so expensive, pay for a car, gas, insurance, and all that stuff you need. My parents have to pay for all that, and they pay for my glasses, hearing aids, school, Sylvan, karate and everything!! I know I'll never have a lot of money like that when I'm an adult.....:(
Anyway, I was thinking.....wouldn't it be cool if there was NO money here on Earth? I mean everything was free and there were no costs. Not only would that be good for everyone, but think about those poor countrys that have no food or homes. They don't have food or homes because they're POOR. But if there were no money they'd be fine.
Does anyone agree with me are am I crazy?
Courtnee 07-09-2005, 06:13 PM That would be neat.Do you mean, like,a village or something? Everyone untied for the sake of life......

huh?
EmoJoe 07-09-2005, 06:34 PM Yeah I dont get the point of money, if everything was free and there was no money that would be a lot better :grr:
swedeace 07-09-2005, 07:04 PM I like your fantasy, Niki! Yes, it CAN be such a struggle to have to work so hard just to pay bills, have our own entertainment and luxury.
Would be interesting, but because we have an economy, that would not suffice.
Mijada 07-09-2005, 07:17 PM Well it would be nice but then no one would want to work if they weren't getting paid. We'd have no doctors, no teachers, no law enforcement, no one to fix our cars when they break down, no one to build our homes etc....
Kay Scarpetta 07-09-2005, 07:46 PM Well it would be nice but then no one would want to work if they weren't getting paid. We'd have no doctors, no teachers, no law enforcement, no one to fix our cars when they break down, no one to build our homes etc....
Exactly what I was going to say :p
TheGreatPretender 07-09-2005, 07:56 PM Then it would be a free for all and people would be rushing to get stuff. It would be chaotic and we would be constantly running out of products because of course any one would take the best house, car, etc.
Penny Lane 07-09-2005, 07:57 PM Ah yes.......... A perfect world! (Sounds like a John Lennon song) ;)
Anyway, without money or compensation there would be no incentive to produce or invent anything! Would you or anybody else toil for hours on something that in the end would reap no material/monetary rewards? I think not! It's a material world and that is human nature!
vienna waits 07-09-2005, 08:16 PM It would not be a perfect world by far. Money is what keeps things going. Unfortunately somebody has to be on the bottom if someone else is going to be on the top. My family isn't "poor" in the traditional sense, but we don't have a lot of money. It's my goal to make a substantially greater amount than what my parents have because I don't want my kids to worry about money the way I do.
Hollow 07-09-2005, 08:20 PM the world would be a mere disaster without money. we'd probably end up going extinct.
*Pleasant Tomorrow* 07-09-2005, 09:51 PM Well it would be nice but then no one would want to work if they weren't getting paid. We'd have no doctors, no teachers, no law enforcement, no one to fix our cars when they break down, no one to build our homes etc....
Which is exactly why we have money. People won't do anything for free. Yet, if people could be that way, life would be so much easier.
robyrob 07-09-2005, 10:04 PM i already live in a world with no money, and I do stuff for free alla time - i mean Im as cynical as the next jerk, but does no one actually do what they do because they ENJOY it?
I'd be a doctor if they'd let me.
Brain surgeon even.

I like the idea. Humanity could work for the betterment of all. To get things done, simply for the joy of seeing things get done. No greed. All people work not for themselves, but for all humaniy... No poverty. The only wealth would be the warm feeling people get as the world unites under a banner of common need.
People could be rewarded with food. If they work, they eat. Simple as that. Humans always make things more complicated than they have to be.
Janice 07-10-2005, 01:08 AM I'm sure Oprah Winfrey, Bill Gates, and Donald Trump would go for the idea.

Oprah could warm up to the idea, I think. The others wouldn't be so open.
G-Force Glockstar 07-10-2005, 01:15 AM Or maybe everything could just be soooooo much LESS expensive!

Hey, if I had my current income, with prices like my great grandfather had, I'd be living the sweet life, baby!
Janice 07-10-2005, 01:38 AM Oprah could warm up to the idea, I think.
I highly doubt it. Oprah is a zillionaire. She likes her money and wouldn't give it up. I wouldn't blame her either.

No rich person would give up their money!

G-Force Glockstar 07-10-2005, 01:45 AM Okay, okay... maybe I'll sell you one of my Cadillacs for $500. :)
Well it's much better than having to pay 10,000 dollars! :)
Max Whittaker 07-10-2005, 01:57 AM Okay, okay... maybe I'll sell you one of my Cadillacs for $500. :)
Ooo! Ooo! Ooo! I'll take it!
Wait until my roommate hears about the sweet ride I got myself! Don't worry, he'll never drive it. You wouldn't want him to. He'll ruin it.
Fleet 07-10-2005, 02:35 AM Well it's much better than having to pay 10,000 dollars! :)
Yeah, a "little" better. :D

Okay, here's the car I'm referring to.
Just come up with 500 big (or little) ones! And I better not see your roomate behind the wheel. :D

I've actually thought of that many times before. Life would be so much easier if money didn't exist and you got everything you need for free (but I guess if everything didn't cost money, than the word "Free" in that sense wouldn't exist!)
robyrob 07-10-2005, 12:25 PM I highly doubt it. Oprah is a zillionaire. She likes her money and wouldn't give it up. I wouldn't blame her either.
yeah - they wouldn't let her into fancy clothing stores after hours anymore :( :( :(
Superstar 07-10-2005, 03:45 PM I'm sure Oprah Winfrey, Bill Gates, and Donald Trump would go for the idea.

Warm & Fuzzy 07-10-2005, 07:56 PM Our world will be chaotic if there were no money. We humans are born with greed and will fight for anything and everything. :nonono:
