On May 25th, 1987 episode of Unsolved Mysteries with Karl Malden, there was a case that spanned from 1969 or 1970 to 1987. About a man who killed several women and he hid out at a house of one of his girlfriends or sisters. I believe it was one the early murder mysteries solved on Unsolved Mysteries. What was the man's name?

Only case I remember that sounds similar to what you explained is the case of John Burns I believe who shot his girlfriend then hid in a barn across the street from her house for 10 days afterwards before disappearing. In one of the Stack hosted specials, it was updated and he was apprehended.
If this is the case you are referring to stay tuned because it's coming to my site soon..

Was that the one the aired on May 25th 1987? I believe that is the one, because it stuck in mind for so many years.

I believe his name was actually Jim Burnside but that aired later on. He was eventually captured as well.

Yes, his name was Jim Burnside and he stabbed and killed his wife (not sure if they had gotten divorced yet) and injured her co-worker. That is such a sad case and happened before the stalking laws. Clearly he was stalking her and they contacted the police but they couldn't do anything until Burnside did something to her. I believe he was captured while doing construction and had a shootout with police. Very sad case.
Welcome to the board, btw Robbie!

That case is so sad. The wife's name was Annette. Annette married Jim Burnside when she was 18 and he was in his 40's. They had two daughters, I wonder how they are doing today, they must be in their 20's now. I wonder who got custody of them after their mother was murdered.
I often wonder about the children of murdered parent(s), if they were put in the foster system or if family members took care of them.

Did they ever solve the case about a little girl who was abducted at a grocery store? I believe another girl was with her.
