View Full Version : Any Word on Season 2 Extras Yet?
jehobden 07-09-2005, 12:35 AM Has anyone seen any info on DVD Season 2 extras yet? I haven't seen anything on any websites, though Barry Williams has said on his site this week that he, Chris Knight, and Susan Olsen have completed commentary on both season 2 & 3 now, but no word on which eps yet, though one of them remarked that it would be fun to comment on the show where Greg smokes. In any case, the set should be lots of fun, but it would be fun to know in advance what to expect.
Sad to say it, but there are no extras on this set. There are none mentioned on the packaging or any found on the discs. Only the 24 episodes of season 2 are included. Look for my review shortly.
TV Guy 07-09-2005, 08:34 PM Hell, I was surprised that there were any extras on S1; Paramount TV DVDs are usually bare-bones.
gidgetgrape 07-09-2005, 10:13 PM That's a bummer. I was hoping for another commentary by The Brady Kids. They were great in Season One.
TV Guy 07-10-2005, 12:20 PM What would be great would be a commentary by Eve Plumb -- I'd love to hear her complain and be crabby about how the show ruined her "career".

I ordered the set on Barry Williams' statement that he had done commentaries, and I don't think he'd lie about that. I hope Paramount wasn't stupid enough to bother to have commentaries made and then throw them out. If the set has no extras where I expect some, I may return it to Amazon for my $ back, as I primarily buy DVD sets for the extras.
I've also noticed that the 3rd season cover art uses the same grid as the 2nd season cover. I had thought that the grid on each set would match the grid from that season, as the grid was redone every season.
MischievousSpirit 07-11-2005, 03:43 PM Shuoldn't we just be happy that Paramount is releasing these sets at all? To me, just seeing these unedited episodes is enough for me!

Seasons 2 and 3 did have the same grid when originally aired. This was the only time this happened during the series' run -- every other season got a new grid. Season 3 did get an updated theme song, though.

I guess something suddenly came up with the audio commentaries. :)
I have to agree the complete unedited episodes are enough for me. I'd never buy a set just for the extras.

Man, oh man...no matter HOW much I think I know about the Brady Bunch, someone always comes along to show me that I still have SO much to learn :)
I never noticed that they didn't re-film the grid every season, I always just assumed that they did.
No wonder I thought Jan didn't change much for a couple of years... then in Season 4 she got glasses and wore braces, and then, in season 5...well, I've already spoken of Season 5 Jan, many times :eyes: Not that I was ever obsessed with her or anything... :eyes: :eyes: :eyes: :eyes: :eyes:
Season 5 will be worth getting just for the cover art :)
Tweety 07-13-2005, 12:03 AM Off topic here, but Gidgetgrape, that's a great picture of Katie Douglas (Tina Cole) for your avitar. She was beautiful!

Thanks for the early review...looking forward to picking this up in a couple of weeks.

I can't remember where I read this or heard this, but I think that Greg used to get a couple thousand fan letters a week for a while there when he was doing the Brady Bunch... Apparently, there were a lot of chicks out there who thought he was Groovy. You probably would have been one of them, except you weren't around yet... ;)
MischievousSpirit 07-14-2005, 03:01 PM I'm just happy I'll be able to get my Brady fix anytime I wish with these DVD sets finally coming out, instead of waiting until 1am, or 6am my time to watch them. Or having to put up with lame recorded, low quality, syndicated episodes on VHS.
On his web site, Barry said that he, Chris, and Susan did commentary for the first 3 seasons. I wonder why it's not included in season 2.
