Mariah Carey takes advantage of the homeless

According to the JJB forums, the caption that goes with this picture is "Tuesday, June 28, 2005. Mariah Carey goes to dinner with some friends at Koi in Los Angeles, CA and later on poses with a homeless man in a wheelchair who didn't want to be photographed. She used him for attention and left without even giving him a handshake or money."

Actually, Billboard admitted that was their fault. They didn't filter the free downloads like they usually do. So they admitted that Mariah really shouldn't have been #1 the first week she was.

But anyways, how stupid of her. As if it wouldn't get out what really happened here with this homeless guy.

That was my first thought! Doesn't surprise me one bit coming from a moron who makes a comment about how it would be nice to be skinny like the starving African children, but without the icky flies, and death and all.

I don't know why she's even still getting any press. She's an out of shape, conceited hasbeen who loves herself enough that she doesn't need anyone else.

If she wants a photo-op, why doesn't she use her drug-addicted, prostitute sister who she ditched at the beginning of her career and is embarrassed to talk about because she's not perfect like Mariah is.

And what's the point of posing like that anyway? She might as well be posing next to a lamp pole or statue - what's supposedly the point? She sure wasn't handing him any money or even her leftover dinner from the restaurant! Shameful. :mad:

I just find her figure to be quite "soft" considering the business she's in. Definitely by "regular people's" standards, she has a nice figure, but put her next to ones like Madonna, Britney, Jessica Simpson, Beyonce etc. and it just looks like she doesn't really workout that much - yet her clothes are barely there and sometimes don't even "sit" right on her.

I still feel her best singing days are behind her, like Diana Ross or Michael Jackson, hence the has-been statement. ;)

I used to think she was really sweet and stood up for her when people were saying she was conceited, but then she showed more and more of her true colours. And yeah, she's as self-absorbed as Diana Ross (another how used to be a favourite of mine, but just turned me off with some of her publicized stunts).

First of all, that's stating it a little biasedly. saying "she used him for attention" is nothing but an assumption.

Second of all, how do we know that she knew he was homeless? He's not holding up a big sign that says "I'M HOMELESS, PLEASE GIVE ME MONEY". people don't just know these things. how do we know that he really didn't want to be photographed? chances are he WASN'T homeless, and the article just made it up to make her look bad. you have to consider that the source is a MESSAGE BOARD. any jackass could have made something like that up and posted it. the fact that they mentioned "she used him for attention" clearly gives it away that they don't like her. you can't fully take someone's word about someone whom they hate, especially with biased assumptions in it like that.

i can't believe more people aren't realizing that someone could have very easily looked at the picture and made up a story behind it.

I'm not really going to comment on this latest episode in Mariah's life. I think after the whole ordeal she went through four years ago, she has simply become an easy target for people to attack. Whether she deserves it or not.

You're probably right. I just now watched that clip, and it didn't seem like she did anything wrong at all.

I still think she's full of herself - and that's from watching her interviews and the way she promotes herself. As well, I still stand behind my other comments - just my opinion tho.

MARIAH'S SISTER IN HOOKER ARREST


July 7, 2005 -- Mariah Carey's troubled, HIV-positive sister has been
arrested for prostitution - for a second time.
Suffolk County police said they picked up Alison Carey, 43, after she
solicited an undercover cop at the West Shore Marina in Huntington, L.I., on
June 13.


"She offered to engage in sexual conduct for $250 in cash," a police source
said.


Explaining the long lag time between Carey's arrest and the public release
of her family ties, another source said, "We don't ask for the family tree
when someone is put under arrest for prostitution."


It was Alison's second prostitution arrest.


She was previously busted in April at her Huntington home, police said. She
pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and was fined $200 on June 2.


Eleven days later, she was back on the streets, police said. The new charge
carries a maximum of three months in jail.


Alison Carey has been out of tune with her family for years. She has claimed
in interviews that she started turning tricks as a teenager, and that her
work paid for limos that took her younger sister to her early gigs.


In the early 1990s, Alison was so broke and strung out that her mother got
custody of the young woman's son.


She gave birth to another boy, and spent years in welfare motels and
sleeping in a car. But she later lost custody of that boy, too.


In 2000, she shopped a tell-all book about her life and her famous sister,
whom she called a "vain and heartless multimillionaire." The book was never
published, if it was written at all.


A spokeswoman for Mariah Carey did not return a call yesterday.


Alison Carey's lawyer could not be reached.

well in that case you can't prove she did say it, because the truth is she didn't.

(this is in reference to most people in this thread) it's amazing how easily people believe everything the media says. i wish more people would keep in mind that they lie or are mistaken sometimes.
