Disney do great special edition DVD's- their platinum collection, Mary Poppins etc. The dvd's are full of special features- but for upcoming Cinderella, they're scarping the bottom of the barrel for special features:

The majority of people buying this dvd will be big disney fans, or parents with kids. How many will remember half of those sporting events? It's related to the movie with the phrase 'cinderella story' alone- may as well put in the Hilary Duff movie as well. Next thing the Wizard of Oz will be released with a documentary about Australian Psychics.

actually, I am sure more ADULTS (as most of the people who COLLECT Disney are out of the tween range) will enjoy that a hell of a lot more than having Hilary Duff and Raven music videos tagged onto The Lion King.

I agree. Most kids nowadays don't even like the classic Disney movies!

I agree that mostly adults would go out of their way to buy disney dvds- there are many collectors, but there are also many parents who buy disney movies to show to their children, sort of to pass on the movies they loved as a child. The ESPN extra is one of the most ridiculour extras I've ever heard of.

Disney's old animated movies were fantastic- it's a shame their legendary status are disrespected by direct to dvd sequels- Cinderella was great, as was the underappreciated Sleeping Beauty. The first Aladdin movie (Ashman/Menken where a great songwriting team), Pinocchio, Alice in Wonderland (one of my faves) and Beauty and the Beast were all excellent. The Lion King was probably the last huge, traditional Disney cartoon- even the newer 2D productions are different in look and humour.

I'm looking forward to that. I have the VHS tape since I bought it 10 years ago. But, I'm getting the DVD. "Cinderella" must be the best. I have the soundtrack on both the record and CD as shown here.

The record I have on the first pic is still a rare collector's item. But I haven't seen the special features yet including the ESPN's "Cinderella Stories" special featuring great sports figures. Will see when it comes out.:rolleyes:

I always love "Cinderella" and it was a classic as well as the sequel. I hope that the movie will be out on October 4th. As I say, October is 3 months away. If you want to see the preview and the behind the scenes look at the DVD release, here it is.
