His name was Frank Nelson. He, and his "Ye-e-e-es?" character, go at least as far back as the Jack Benny radio show! He died of cancer in 1986.
Some people consider him one of Sanford & Son's "shark-jumpers", but dang I liked that guy.

I didn't know he's been gone a long time. I thought he was still alive.

I also remember, there is some character on The Simpsons that imitates his yeeess act. Really funny!!! :lol:
