We did this roughly a year ago (http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/showthread.php?t=115016) , I figured it's time for an update. Last year, out of 18 votes, the Brady Bunch was the leader with 5, and since then season 1 has been released with season 2 and 3 coming out later this year. Same as last year, this poll consists of the 10 most popular 70's sitcoms here on Sitcoms Online based only on the total number of posts on their respective boards, as of July 4, 2005 and these are also shows that haven't yet been released on dvd as season sets, nor officially announced as season sets. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to vote for the one 70's sitcom out of these choices that you most want on dvd. You can discuss more than one in your post if you like, but make sure to cast a vote for one in the poll.

I'd have to go with WKRP. I watched it on N@N in the 90's and miss not watching it. :(

I voted for Alice, although I want The Odd Couple just as much. At least I can still see The Odd Couple on TV though.

Since One Day At A Time is doing well on the Sony poll and should hopefully come out soon, I'll vote for the same thing I voted for last year: Welcome Back Kotter in season sets.

very true, I am sure a lot of people who've never seen Maude would want to check it out to see Bea and Rue on a show over 10 years before Golden Girls.

I voted for "The Odd Couple" but I also want "WKRP in Cinncinati" & "Maude".


"The Odd Couple" is rumored to being considered for a possible future DVD realease, though, so I'm keeping my fingers-and toes crossed!!!

I voted for WKRP, but would buy them all.

Oh man, a tough decision, but the one I want first is The Odd Couple.

There's no CPO Sharkey board. I just went with shows with their own boards and by the number of posts, the reason being those are shows with the most activity in terms of discussion, and the interest in dvd releases for those shows would probably be higher than for less active boards/shows.

does anyone think Shout!Factory could acquire WKRP? It'd be more costly through them but they're the only company that would go all out and fight for music rights.

As for Shout! acquiring WKRP, I think they might be willing to give it a shot. I remember reading an article where someone from the company said they would be interested in releasing that series and/or That '70s Show, and clearing music in the process. (this was before Fox acquired the DVD rights to '70s Show, and BTW, Fox apparently altered some music for the '70s Show DVDs...)
