Are fireworks sales banned in your city? Is your city's considering such a ban? I'm referring to a ban on all sales including the so-called "safe and sane" variety. Vote and discuss here! I should've started a poll like this a few days earlier to give more time but I haven't thought about this till now. :)

I'm pretty sure we just sell the "safe" ones. Like sparklers, bottle rockets...stuff like that. But people still go out of state to buy stupid crap that's loud and annoying and make our houses shake and the like to blow them up all freaking night.

All have been banned for years in my city. Cannot buy/sell; cannot use.

Of course, some people still do their firecrakers etc. But they're not supposed to.

I live down the hill from the Muckleshoot Indian Reservation, where you can buy illegal fireworks, even though all fireworks are illegal to use in the city of Auburn. Which means the wackjobs here are going to do their best to go pyromaniac on us tonight.

People could easily go to various places around the area and watch the city-sponsored fireworks displays.

I've seen them in the last couple days on the balcony where they set off fireworks in the neighborhood. I've seen it and it's fun. I chose "My city considering it". Fireworks were sometimes illegal or legal. A lot of neighbors set off. I like it.

The sale of fireworks is banned in Massachusetts. They used to be legal in neighboring New Hampshire, and people would go there to get them. Not sure if they're still legal in NH.

They're illegal to sell in NY. But you can drive to PA and buy them. It's weird, PA sells them, but PA residents can't buy them. I think they do that in NY too. And of course, if nothing else, you can always drive to the Indian Reservation.

Anyways, they are illegal to use, but police don't care on the 4th of July. I've been up behind the school before with people setting off fireworks on the 4th of July, and police will just drive by without even thinking about it.

I'm pretty sure the purchasing of explosives is illegal here in New York City.

The Mayor is real particular about stuff blowing up.

"Safe" (whatever THAT means) ones are still allowed here.

My husband doesn't need them anyway. He just about set the trees and house on fire Sat. night with the citronella in the tiki sticks alone!

Same here, they are banned in my city, but people just go to the next town and buy them. Although I think they are going to demolition factories and buying sticks of dynamite. ;)

i honestly don't know if they're legal here or not - everyone around here (including every kid on the block) has been shooting off every kind of fireworks imaginable all weekend.

...of course technically, the gunfire is supposed to be illegal here too.

They're illegal in the city, but not in the county. You just go outside the city limit where the stands are and buy them then set 'em off wherever.

Yah they are. My dad goes to PA to buy the ground fireworks and we always set them off in our backyard anyways. Last time we did that some random police officer stumbled out of the woods at like 2 in the morning and started interrogating my parents who were all drunk and having a fire in the backyard. My dad bought like $200 worth of real fireworks that launch into the air from my cousins and we set a few of them off in some field at the nascar race, but we've never used them at home.

It's 12:31 AM on the morning of July 5th and these freaks in my apartment zoo complex are STILL lighting off illegal fireworks and by the sound of it, they will do it until the cows come home. I hope that these idiots will have several fingers, hands, and limbs blown off. Why bother calling the ambulance when it means they would have to alert the police? Fireworks are not only illegal at this apartment, but anywhere in the city of Auburn. I at least they shoot one of their bottle rockets up their nose.

I HATE THIS CITY WITH A PASSION.

Fireworks are illegal in Wisconsin (except for sparklers or wippersnappers), but pretty much everyone still does that, so they have to be buying them from SOMEWHERE! The cops do sometimes catch people, but mostly just give them a warning. Out in the country, like northwest of Milwaukee, there's always tons of fireworks shops off of the highway. If they are illegal I don't know why the police aren't making them close the stores.
