Hi,

my first post ;)

I must say that I was surprised having found Seinfeld several months ago. The show is indeed about "nothing", but it has something that goes beyond "standard" comedy. At the same time I couldn't think of any other sit-com which would be as funny as Seinfeld. I've been looking all over the sit-com-sites, watching pilots, reading articles but I just couldn't find any constructive suggestions for the Seinfeld alternatives.

What do you think? Are there any proper alternatives to Seinfeld?

For further information:

I really enjoyed

Caroline in the City (1995-1999)
Curb Your Enthusiasm (2000-?)
Frasier (1993-2004)
Just Shoot Me (1993-2004)
Seinfeld (1989-2000)
Two Guys and A Girl (1993-2004)

but they didn't really come close to Seinfeld. Well, maybe Frasier, but only in some episodes.

So, what do you think? ;)

Friends and Cheers seem right up your alley.

Thanks, but as you might have read from my post, I've already seen it.

If you're looking to capture the 'feel' of Seinfeld then you can't go past either Mad About You or The Single Guy which were both very NY and very neurotic!

However if you're looking for a show that can match Seinfeld in originality, quality and laughs then try the following:

Ned & Stacey
The John Larroquette Show
It's Garry Shandling's Show
Herman's Head
NewsRadio

Maybe "Will & Grace." It has sort of the same type of humor.

Definitely try Cheers and even though I'm not a fan of the show, how about Arrested Development?

I was going to say Arrested Development.

And by the way, am I the only person who likes Seinfeld but does not enjoy Curb Your Enthusiasm?

You might be dlemond. I have not seen much of Curb, but what I have seen I have liked.

Everybody Loves Raymond. It's like what Jerry would be if he got married
