There was an episode called Tender is the Knight where Alex is running around in a towel.

We did see Ellen in a few flashback scenes later on though - To be exact, in "Wrap Around the Clock Part One" (episode 169).

The producers tried to get Tracy Pollan to return at the beginning of the sixth season, after she had been off the show for a year. She declined, so they hired Courteney Cox to play Lauren, because they wanted Alex to have a steady girlfriend again.

Yeah, as much as I'd never wanna offend MJF, you weren't missin' much the one time he was shirtless. Some sexpot invaded his shower in an ep. and he went running into the hallway with a towel around him. Fox was one of a few actors who never had to give into the muscle-head mentality, he was only just skinny. Very few times in his whole career have I seen him take much off.
