Anyone else who can't read these things, feel free to use this to post your logs if you need to.

I was looking around the net and saw other people had CPU at 100% problems and someone ran a HijackThis, so I thought it might help. If someone could read this and tell me if anything in there should be gotten rid of, I would really, really appreciate it! Thank you!!

Before i start here, are you using NetZero or SBC Yahoo - you should uninstall whichever one you aren't using. (the NetZero software may be a large part of your problem)

You definately have some bad stuff in there, you should probably head over to the HijackThis support forums (http://forums.tomcoyote.org/index.php?showforum=27) or the Spywareinfo forums (http://forums.spywareinfo.com/) for the best help... however you can probably clean some of this stuff up yourself first.

you need to update and run Spybot (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=download), AdAware (http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download/), and Antispyware (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=321CD7A2-6A57-4C57-A8BD-DBF62EDA9671&displaylang=en&Hash=CHYKS69) in Safemode (http://www.pchell.com/support/safemode.shtml)

Please download (for free), update and run the AČ anti-trojan (http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/free/). Let it fix whatever it wants to.

Press Ctrl+Alt+Del and "End Task" or "End Process" on each of the following: (They may or may not be there)
wuauclt.exe
exec.exe
nzspc.exe

go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items, then click fix checked.

i honestly don't know if that's all that is going on in there, you probably need to update and run your antivirus program in safemode as well.

I was just going to say you have a LOT of things running at startup.

You can go to Start > Run then type in msconfig. Go to the Startup tab and UNcheck the stuff you DON'T want running when you start up your computer. After you are done UNchecking the stuff you don't want running at startup, you can apply the changes. :)

msconfig won't get all the stuff you don't want running at startup, so I recommend downloading Startup Control Panel 2.8 (http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file_download.asp?fid=7976&fileidx=1). It's a pretty nifty tool. :) Be sure to go through ALL the tabs and UNcheck the stuff you don't want running at startup. And be sure to check it every now and then as you install new progs, just to see if they come up in there and you don't want them running at startup.

another important step i forgot to mention - it looks like you need to install the VX2 Cleaner add-on for AdAware - that program registers itself with system priviledges which makes it very difficult to remove

get it here:

http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/addons/vx2cleaner.shtml

Great...NetZero is the one I am using. Not surprised though; the little bar that pops up for the HiSpeed mysteriously disappeared a couple days ago, so I'm sure it's messed up.

well, hang on then - if you aren't using the SBC;

uninstall the SBC software FIRST
make sure you've downloaded & updated all the tools mentioned in my first post
uninstall NetZero
do all your cleanup in Safe Mode
RE-install your NetZero software
reboot and run HijackThis again

The last time I used my computer was 2 weeks ago when they automatically programmed SpySheriff and all of a sudden, my wallpaper was blocked where it says "System Stopped".http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/mad.gif I hate this new program. I used HiJackThis to feature it out what's wrong with SpySheriff so that, I erased most of the files to shreds and then, my computer was not working where it has no taskbar at all. All of that except no sound. I brought over to Staples to get this thing fixed. Hopefully I will get it back.

Can anyone help me with a problem I have been having? I keep getting some weird programs that keep trying to access the net, but since i have the nortn internet protection, Im able to keep blocking them from accessing the net. I created a HiJackThis log, so if anyone can see what is wrong and what i should remove please let me know. Thanks in advance!

i dont really have a lot of time to try and track down everything going on in there right now, but it seems that you are infected with the "A Better Internet" malware - try following the instructions for removing it here:

http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/ABetterInternet_keeps_coming_back-t41944.html

(there is definately a large number of things you have running in the background that are slowing you down and potentially acessing the internet, but get rid of the nastiest one first)

As far as I know, I got my computer back last week so that I will get back online. When I was using the computer Robyrob, my computer has a new anti-virus program called Panda Titanium Antivirus 2005 installed on my computer to protect my PC from getting a lot of virus to the program that I'm using. My computer has still Windows XP on. Since I got it back, my software has SP1 so they updated it with SP2 including Firewall protection and Pop-up blocker for Internet Explorer. This is compared to Mozilla's Firefox program that has the same thing to it. I hope that my computer is off and running.

that's good news - make sure you protect yourself from spyware as well, try

SpywareBlaster (http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html), Spybot (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=download), AdAware (http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download/), and Antispyware (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=321CD7A2-6A57-4C57-A8BD-DBF62EDA9671&displaylang=en&Hash=CHYKS69)

all are excellent free programs.
